Morning ladies. I was like a zombie last night. I remember vaguely waking up 3 times but can't remember what time. Liam woke up at 6am when DH was leaving and now he's busy 'chatting' to the ceiling lol.
Girly, expressing will help increase your supply. I stopped expressing a while ago because Liam didn't want to take a bottle but now i hand express in the mornings for his cereal and it has already increased my supply. When we go out i usually sit in the car and breastfeed instead of having to rush home. So sorry about having to change k's dressing. I hurt Liam once when clipping his nails and i cried so i can imagine what you go through when you have to see her in pain.
Claudia, the running helped to bring james out lol. My dog was scared of me when i was pregnant i don't know why though because i was 5 months pregnant when we got him but now he wants to play everytime he sees me. You must be really fit with all the running and swimming. Good luck with 2 oceans.
Girly re swaddling, Liam hated it. He would always fight him way out of it. DH said i should stop torturing him with the straight jacket(the swaddling blanket) so i stopped. Have a nice day ladies.

i hope that the silence means you are all sleeping very soundly.

K has a blocked nose so had to help clear that and now trying to settle her before I put her down. Earlier I was too quick and she managed to get her arms loose from the swaddle and wake herself up even more.

Really struggling to keep my eyes open now, this is the only way. Kaylee is waking on the dot 3 hourly tonight even after waking her at 10pm. She eats well at every feed so not sure why we are not on 4 hourly anymore.

Hubby has slept with us for the first time on a week night. But she was quite fidgety now that he went to sleep in the lounge.

Anyway let me try this again.

Welcome Gerne although I know you also chat on the cloth nappy group:)

lol Vash I was the same. The day before my EDD I took both my dogs for a walk, which is never a good idea. Landed up running behind them and got the worst shin splints!

@ Girly I've never done a marathon and I'm not really a runner. I've always canoeed and swum, but my sister ran it this year and challanged me to do it with her. I think I was crazy to accept especially since she us a hectic runner!

James has been so good today! Wish he was always this easy:)

Oh yes Yaz - re the elixir - think you misunderstood me :)
It can be kept for as long as 1 year is what the box says. So I can stock up now since its so cheap.
I make jungle juice with it, and 1 big bottle lasts about 3 weeks if I make it every day. Its quite a pain to make so I dont always but its much nicer than drinking 2ltrs of water, I dont like water much these days.

The jungle juice is great cos it tastes nice. I use grape juice or energade for mine - works out cheaper that way and tastes just as nice. It's expensive to maintain though if you make 3LTRS a day but its good tasting way of getting those 2Ltrs in daily, and it gives energy and helps milk.

Evening everyone

Gerne all welcome :) Nice to have company in the crazy hours of the AM. Exciting times for you! I cant believe Ive been on maternity for 2 months next week, time has gone by so quickly!

Patty safe driving. Hope the drive home is easier for you. I'm jealous of the warm weather. Cape Town has been cold today!
Never thought I'd need the heater on at the end of September!

Lol Claudia - I really thought I'd start gyming next week but hell no. I might start taking K for walks in her pram once we've done the vacs on Thursday. Counting the days now!
Wow marathons! Have you done it before? I'm not big on running, prefer cycling. My personal favourite is pilates but havent done it since 28w pregnant due to pubic bone pain!
Haha at the letting rip! Kaylee is the same :) Makes her mommy proud :D Our family are very loud there, I put DH to shame! Sorry for TMI :P

Vash glad your evening went okay. Thx advice re expressing. I only want to express occasionally so that DH can feed her if I want to attend a gym class or go for a massage or something. So if I express two or three mornings a week after a feed I shouldnt lose any of my milk? I am not keen on bottle feeding, but need to have backup in case she gets hungry while I am out. Otherwise if it was up to me I would only ever breast feed but then I'd never be able to go anywhere for longer than an hour and a bit (by the time I'm leaving the house).

Yaz thinking of you tonight. Hope she will settle nicely and you will get some quality sleep and energy for tomorrow.
Tx for info re bathing - we bath her every 2nd day as soon as DH gets home after her next feed. It also wakes her up unfortunately. She loves the actual bathing, and just lies there staring at us. She just doesnt like the cold afterwards. We also have to change her dressing which is really sore for her so thats not nice.
Nikki hectic night for you then! Dunno about Peyton, but Kaylee does not go to sleep on her own. I have to put her on my shoulder to fall asleep after a feed and then I 'chat' to you girls for 5 or 10 minutes and then put her to bed, if I do it too soon she will wake up.
I managed to get the gifts for my friend yes. But wanted to get a sleep wedge and baby boom didnt have stock and I didnt have time to drive down to baby city or babysrus cos she was waking up and I needed to grab lunch.

So DH gave her a bottle today - pigeon teat, and she took it :)
I expressed then, and was totally surprised. a month ago I had to express while she was in holiday, and was getting between 50-60mls per feed and today I got 100mls and could have gone longer but my storage bottles only take 100mls.

Anyway, gonna wake her up now for a feed, otherwise this will be her long sleep and I wont get any. But we also have to change her dressing (DH does it and he was out when she was last awake) which really sucks as its sore for her and she's gonna wake up from it. Not nice waking your baby up to do something that will hurt her. But we have no choice :(

Oh gosh claudia, thanks for telling me. I was getting abit worried because i started exercising about 4 times but had to stop because i would bleed. It's a really light bleed and lasted a day or 2 after i stopped. Re jungle juice, i have heard of that but never needed it. My mom told me to drink gingerbeer and that helped to establish my supply in the beginning. Now Liam only drinks from 1 breast at a feed so i don't have a problem.
Patty, yes i know a few people who have a bad reaction to johnsons stuff. Try to avoid scented creams and lotions. Also use mild detergent to wash her clothes.
Gerne, welcome! The last few weeks are the toughest. I remember crying once because i just couldn't take being pregnant anymore. Liam was 5 days late and the day before he was born i walked the entire day hoping to get labour started. That night i went into labour so the walking paid off. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.
