file Burning the midnight oil together

Ah the thread was nice and quiet, I hope that means everyone had a good night. My world is definitely much more colourful than yesterday after Ms Lilly went to bed with more or less no problems and went back to sleep after her night feed. Unfortunately she woke up early now so I can trash my plans of getting some packing done. Bronz, how did it go with breaking the cycle? Did Graeme cooperate? Nikki, have you moved bed rooms eventually? Gerne, shame the last few weeks are tiring, not long to go! Patty, glad you travelled safely and Una behaved! Claud and Girly, I also hate this whole expressing and bottle business with a passion but have to get her used to darn bottle before I go back to work. I'll have to change her onto formula though as there's no way I'll be able to express at work. Luckily she'll be six months old by the time. Gotta change Madam now. Have a great day everyone! x

Nikki: I put him into the nook of my arm, up with his head on my upper arm / shoulder / armpit area. Hope that make sense.
Can you not move her cot into your room? If you get her used to it in your room it may be easier moving it into her room. As she would be in a familiar environment instead of it being all new.

Gerne: I dont think you have to worry about spelling as most of us will be half asleep anu way. :) Do you have an exercise ball? You can bounce to try move baby down and there is less pressur on your back. Just sit on bounce while watching tv.

Wish me luck ladies tonight I am going to break the cycle and will be putting G back in bed, so may be a rough night.

Hi ladies

@yaz sorry about your rough night and hoping Ms Lilly is getting some shuteye so that mummy can rest as well.

@Bronz - I also brought Peyton to our bed last night as she is no longer sleeping in the moses crib. Didn't want to move her to nursery until she was sleeping through the night but may have to. Thinking of moving in myself to make the transition easier.

We took her out yesterday, first to breakfast and then to canal walk and overdid it timewise as she hardly slept and became fussy towards late afternoon, early evening from lack of sleep and overstimulation.

Eventually did sleep but refused to sleep in moses crib-she is getting too big for it anyway.
Went through a few get up, put back to sleep scenarios when eventually DH said I should take her to our bed and lay her down. It worked but I was wide awake and stuck there. She stirred everytime I moved. Also find it difficult co sleeping as I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in. Also stressed I would smother her.

So she slept from 21h00 to 23h30 and from 24h00 to 4h00 and then from 4h30 to 7h30. So more breaks compared to her 5-6 hour stretches.

Not sure what to do about this. Was in a very emotional state last night, felt like crying, body was sore and felt like a failure because I couldn't get her to sleep in her crib.

I'm hoping today is a better day and for everyone else too.

Hey ladies.

Well I am getting myself into a bad habit. Graeme wakes up and I have been putting him to sleep in my bed for the last few nights straight away, so I havent been waking up and he does not go back to his cot. I think he has cottoned on to this as he is waking up earlier. I have to break this cycle.

Waiting to go for another driving lesson. Really dont feel like it so early, but have to go now so hubby can go to work after. Graeme is cuddled up with hubby still fast asleep.

@Patty how did the return drive go?

@gerne welcome, hopefully by the time your bundle comes I will be gone. :)

Ok I am not even going to bother responding to the weight loss part of the conversation.

Graeme does not get over stimulated. ??? He went from person to person the other day with them all playing with him and then he went to sleep straight after. I find he is easier when there is allot going on than when we are at home in the relaxed environment. He even goes to sleep better and quicker when out.

@Yaz: Sorry you had such a rough night. Hope she sleeps longer now so you can get some sleep.

Re expressing: I express at night. Which is not apparently normal as your supply goes down as the day goes. I will get any where between 50 to 120mls depending on how hungry G was. But I dont express for my self, I am doing it for donation. Oh I dont give bottle while we are out. If there is no where quiet to sit then I will go to the loo and feed G, luckily that only takes about 5 mins. But like now for the driving Lesson I have made a bottle of formula just in case, but when I get home I will feed him straight away.

OK ladies I am off, Have a great day. :)

Oh ladies, we had the worst night so far. Lilly didn't sleep the whole afternoon yesterday, just in and out of naps. So last night I paid the price. Fighting and crying until past midnight. DH had to take over eventually as I had her the whole evening and at 23h30 just couldn't anymore. I just wanted to cry and walk out. He took her and voila, 20 minutes later she was fast asleep. She obviously felt how tense and upset I was. She fed now at 4h45 and has been sleeping since. Hopefully she's gonna give me a bit more me-time still, need to catch up on work.

Claudia, did it suddenly get better when James was 12 weeks or more gradually? Lilly will be 12 weeks on Friday but I don't want to get my hopes up in case it won't get better yet.

Chat again later
