Girly, shame hun, sounds like you really had a rough day. Kaylee and Lilly must have been talking to each other as there's no sign of somebody planning to sleep this side either. Now she's crying cause she's so tired. Sorry you and hubby had a fight. It might sound harsh but I don't think even the most involved dads don't really understand what we are putting up with. Your helper sounds like a tough case, no idea about the labour law in such cases. It sounds like a mission though, instead of less work at home you just get more. Reminds me again why I don't want a maid. Hope you get some well deserved rest. I'll be here for the rest of the night at the look of things so feel free to vent away. Hugs x

Evening girls

Hear me out please - I need to vent! Hopefully will give you some interesting reading tonight :P

The last 24hrs probably the most challenging I've had since being home from hospital. Last night Kaylee didnt go down before 11:30. Then woke at 2 and was awake until 5am. Then awake again at 7 and again at 9. I had the maid here today - lets not even go there, I am livid - and a friend over from 12:30-3 which was the only time K slept properly. She was awake from 3 till 6 and again from 7:30 till now. She is still not properly asleep, she wakes up the minute we put her down and even in our arms or swing doesnt fall asleep properly. It looks like tonight is a repeat of last night, I dont know if I can do another one like it. Usually I like to take a nap after her last evening feed, but the last 2 nights no such joy. I just really really hope she will sleep properly tonight.

I dont have the heart to fire our maid, but I dont want her here anymore. I mentioned yesterday she doesnt speak english well and so communication is an issue. Well today she proceded to re-wash all the clean stuff I'd washed on the weekend that was sitting in 2 baskets in the lounge. We never have dirty baskets in the lounge, its for the clean washing? So she rewashed all of that and never got through all the washing. But I never realised this until tonight when I was looking for the clean baby clothes to pack away, only to find them still wet in the washing machine, and not even dry. So I had to pack away 2 loads of washing, fold and put aside stuff for ironing, and now still baby clothes to pack away tomorrow. She might as well not have come. And what irks me is that all this could have been avoided had she just asked me about the washing in the lounge. I just cant trust her.
Then I tell her this morning only to vacuum once kaylee is awake. K wakes up, so I say you must do the vacuuming within the next hour. 30 minutes later she's still busy with other stuff so I remind her again. Her response: "Room". So I say yes, vacuum the room first, then I will move her to the room so you can vacuum the rest of the house. 10 minutes later (by now K getting overtired and needs to be put down) I ask when she's going to vacuum. Says she's just busy with the room. So I said NO, vacuum NOW because Kaylee needs to go to sleep. Aaarg!!!
I am at wits end. Every wednesday is so painful because who knows what each day will bring, and I cant give her instructions as she pretty much cant talk english. Can I fire someone on the grounds of not understanding or being able to communicate? I hate to put someone out of work but I really shouldnt have to put up with this.

So DH gets home and I just wanna vent about my day and night, but he immediately switches off. So we ended up having a huge fight because he doesnt want me to ruin his evening by complaining. Not impressed at all. He tells me to vent on the forum so I told him I'd vent about him too. Now I've never ever said anything about our personal lives on here, as what goes on at home is not business I want to make public, but he really could've handled it differently. Gotta remember I've been cooped up at home & hospital for 6 weeks now with no one to vent to.

Here's hoping I will have a better evening and day tomorrow.
She has been feeding almost hourly since 7:30, and is crying again, so I dont know what's up.
Tomorrow we go to the paed for 6 week check up, so its gonna be a long day. Then my cousin from pretoria is visiting in the afternoon so no rest for me.

Hopefully the rest of you have had better times. Please tell me about it to cheer me up at 3am.

Chat laters.

Hi girls, shame Patty, sorry you had such a long day. These little madams definitely have a mind of their own. Lol Nikki, welcome to the club of on-mommy's-arm sleepers - thank God for our baby carriers/pouches/wraps. Talking about sleep: Miss Lilly had a good day but has not slept since 4 o'clock this afternoon. She's obviously overtired now and lekker working herself up. DH and I are in her room with her trying to hypnotise her with the white noise cd but it only seems to work on us, the monster is still wide awake. Preparing myself for a long night. Catch you all later x

@ Patty - sorry about Una not sleeping - had the same problem with Peyton in that she wouldn't sleep in her crib during the day. She did however sleep in my arms, on my chest or in the kango pouch. I wanted her to take all her naps in her crib so previously had a very awake baby most of the day. Today I deceided to leave her to sleep in my arms - she napped for 2.5hrs, her longest nap ever (thanks Yaz!)and then later in the pouch for an hour and then 3 other short naps.

She did however sleep well last night, from 8h30 to 02h00 and from 3h30 to 6h30.
Hoping tonight goes well, put her down at 8h30 and about to hit the sack myself for some much needed z's

Catch you all later

Hi ladies.

What a hectic day it was, Una refused to sleep during de day :( just had like 30min naps, which means I didn't get to relax either.
Hoping she'l be too tired tonight & sleep longer.

Hi Bronz *wave*, yes, finally got it - so good to be not alone at night anymore :) In 9 out of 10 cases Lilly feeds for 3 -5 minutes at night (feeds are getting shorter and shorter, maybe she's gonna drop the night feed soon - here's hoping) and then goes straight back to sleep - but last night she had other plans.

So cute about Graeme snorting lol
