Thanx Vash.

Una is stretching to 3hours between feeds this evening, I'm loving it. She just threw up now :( but is refusing to nurse again. She loves her sleep ;)
her bedtime is between 8 & 9pm. During de day she sleeps in her carry cot in the lounge.

At what age did u start e baby on the bottle ladies?
I've been expressing & trying de bottle since Una was 1.5months, but she refuses to suck :( I'm using Nuk bottle, if I give her with a cup she drinks, but that's not convenient if we r out/in de car. Please advice.

Back to sleep again. Later

Hi ladies. Well it's been about 2.5hrs since Liam's last feed and he is up again. Nikki, during the day Liam spends time in his swing downstairs or if i'm upstairs then he will be in his cot. I have to buy another cot for downstairs because he's starting to move really quickly now.
Claudia, i also demand feed but Liam 'demands' from me every 1.5 to 2 hrs and every hour during a growth spurt. I don't mind though as long as he's healthy.
Girly, Liam's bedtime is at 9pm at the moment so DH gets to spend some time with him but i will start moving it earlier as he gets older. Re the bottles, i also have Nuk but he doesn't drink from them and then i found out that they aren't BPA free so now i will get new bottles and try again. Liam has started biting me when i feed him and i got a little angry and scolded him before and he started crying. I felt bad but he has to learn not to do that.
Bronz, well done. I stress very easily and with having a mc before i was so worried. It's a good thing i didn't study this year because DH'S hours are long so i would have to see to Liam myself.
Welcome Patty. It's harder to burp baby when their sleeping so i just leave Liam to sleep without burping him and he's fine now but i do turn him on his side in case he throws up but that has never happened. Now i can get back to bed. Goodnight.

Hi ladies.

Let me join in as I'm up every 2-3hrs for my princess's (Una) feeds :)
I also struggle to burp her at night, she's half asleep wen feeding. She's a very calm baby thou, once fed she'lbe chilling or sleeping.
We bought a swing for her, but she hated it. So had to return it, so she chills on her car seat ;)

I'm 27yrs old, Una is 2months, we had been trying for a baby from May 2008. Was a stressful time as we had planned everything for a baby only for things not to go our way :(

let me get my 90min-2.5hrs sleep quickly, chat later.

Hey Ladies

Girly: I use 2 types now. NUK and TommyTippee. He did not take the nuk well in the beginning, but was better with the TT. It is much more nipple like. And to get him to take the bottle I would have to put telamint drops or gripe water or the teat, almost to trick him. No probs now with him taking it.

What do you ladies normally do when awake? I like looking at a few sites that dont use brain power.

www.fmylife.com

I must stop doing this, I am wide awake and I can hear G sleeping. Hmmm and he will be up in 2 hours to feed.

Vash I wrote exams while pregnant. I did well, but stressed myself out at one point cause I had not felt him move for a couple of days. I thought I would have a miscarriage.

This year's exams will be fun. Hubby will be staying home allot. Luckily work is flexible to allow him to work from home. So he will look after G while I study so all I have to do is feed him.

Happy to see you leaving us Claudia. :)

wow long night. K hasn't slept since her feed at 8 and she just had another feed. Getting Dh to burp her so I can get ready for bed. Im pooped. Usually by this feed she goes to sleep quite quickly but she is wide awake.

Hopefully we will be in dreamland soon.

Those of you who formula feed or express, what bottles do you use? The Nuk ones just dont seem to be working for us. I dont think she knows to suck it, not nipple like enough.

Thanks Clauds. Her outfit generally gets soaked from the amount of milk so I'm pretty sure its at least half her feed. Amazed at how much milk she actually gets out of a 10minute feed, feeds really well though I'm so proud of her!
She feeds 2 - 3 hourly during the day demand fed, maybe once a week she'll go longer but not often. From about 10pm its 3-4hourly depending on her needs. I'm sure as her stomach grows it'll get longer. The last few nights at least 1 feed is 4 hourly, sometimes 4,5hrs. I'm pretty sure it'll start stretching to 5 soon. Only thing is after her 6am feed (more or less) she tends to wake up after 2 maybe 3 hours at most, and she is very crampy and niggly after that feed, only settles if we lie her basket in the bed with us.

Nikki during the day she is in the lounge with us. Either in her new swing, or in her basket. She takes very long to fall asleep in the lounge with the lights, tv and all the things to look at, but I dont want her to become impossible to put to sleep in a busy environment. She stays in the lounge till after her 9pm feed, and then once asleep we take her to the room where she stays until 9am. Some people start off very early with their day routine, but with hubby only getting home at 6:30 and bathing her between 7 & 8 depending on when she wakes for a feed, we cant put her 'to bed for the night before DH gets to spend a bit of time with her, plus he generally helps with her until about 10pm so mommy can get a break :)

See you all later. Gotta prepare food and then feed K and then bath her. Busy night ahead!

@ Girly. One of my good friends struggled with reflux in her LB. She alo thought he was throwing up his entire feed, but the paed told her that often what looks like a huge amount is often nothing more than a teaspoon. Try this - put some milk onto a tablespoon and then pour it onto the floor. It spreads out quite far, now imagine adding saliva to the mix:) I know you are worried about her growing after her big op, but she'll let you know if she is hungry - also maybe try feeding her 3 hourly during the day because then you can let her sleep longer at night. I was demand feeding, but then I read that the more of their daily milk requirements they get during the day, the less they need at night. Its when I started doing this that James started sleeping through(except for growth spurts etc..)
Im from durbs:)

James is much better. Slept through again last night thank goodness:)
