What a hectic week! I won't complain about traffic in PTA again. I don't know how people survive through JHB traffic every day!!

2kidmamma, I haven't got any experience with a doula. What will be her role during your baby's birth.

Nosh, I think it is perfectly normal to be scared, but even should your baby be born right now, it will still have a reasonable chance to survive with all the medical advances we have available these days. You should be save now, to start buying some goodies for baby. It will certainly save you a lot of trouble and energy than having to buy everything at once! Try not to let fear ruin your excitement of a new family member arriving in just a couple of months! Will be thinking of you.

I am so glad it is weekend. Hope everyone has a great one and gets plenty of rest!! Having my husband's brother and family over on Sunday. They put in a huge order for lunch! My husband just laughed and said they will eat what they get and I shouldn't go out of my way! He even offered to cook! Sometimes, Husbands just know when to step up!

I can understand your fear but I would suggest buying at least the basic essentials for baby - toiletries, clothes for the first few weeks...the ladies who have already had babies will be able to advise you better but I hear that the first few weeks/months after birth are rather hectic and I'm not sure how much shopping time you'll have. Also, be comforted by the fact that your baby is now at a stage where he is viable outside the womb, so if there are complications things will hopefully be fine!

And yes, I'm 26 weeks and also feeling a bit sleepier!

Hi all... just got back from the gynae... Rebecca has turned breach since my 4d scan last week Had a bit of a meltdown in the gynae's rooms I really really don't want to go the ceaser route. She's says she'll wait until 37 weeks but if she hasn't turned back by then, then ceaser it is.

So.... any idea's on how to turn Rebecca back to head down?

27 weeks today and feeling great! anyone else feeling sleepier than usual??

Thank you for the warm welcome. I am really getting excited as time is going by as I'm sure all of u guys are feeling the same too. I have looked at what crib I want and the kinda things I'll be needing its just that with my first pregnancy which I lost at six weeks (I didnt know I was pregnant and drank a herbal fever med. at four weeks which caused bleeding and complications I was even put on progestrone tabs but in the end lost the baby at six weeks).

So yes thats my biggest fear still the fear of loosing my baby so thats why I havent bought anything for the baby and am planning on buying it only after the baby is born. do u think thats bad or too late?

I am such a newbie on this whole pregnancy thing so I have questions like what is doula for and whts the use of having one also wht is the difference between a midwife birth and birth by a GP. My pregnancy so far is being handled by a GP and so far he does not seem concerned about anything at all.

My stomach seems to have settled in on the mom2b shakes and is doing good now anyone else having the mom2b shake?

2kmama - the video looks so cool I also think the baby smiled a bit and was scratching its head like what is that loud noise?

I went for a tour of the mediclinic in windhoek this weekend and it looked nice and cute and cosy they said they do provide clothes for the baby but said if i deliver late at night or something then the clothes will only come next morning so i should bring some but u know im so reluctant to buy anything am honestly really scared

The hospital does supply clothes and blankets for the baby so you don't have to take any except the clothes and blankets for going home in. However I always took my own clothes and blankets with to use so you can if you want to.

Enjoy the tour of the maternity Ward. I wont be touring again, I have had the tour twice now so I'm a regular. Infact I had the sam bed both times C1, let see if we can keep up the tradition.

@2kidmamma - thank you so much for the info. I feel better now about going to Stellenbsoch MC. I am going on their tour of the maternity ward on the 30th of March. I was worried about the rooms where you had to share. I would prefer a private room but at R650 per day, that will not be happening.

Do you know if we take baby's own clothes and blankets for the stay in hospital? We didn't have to at durbanville but I have heard that it did change at some hospitals in the mean time.

I am getting super excited now. Up until now it has still felt a bit unrealistic, even though I can feel movement, but now I can't wait!!
