Hallo Everyone,

Hope everyone had a teriffic weekend!

Nosh, Welcome to the thread. Hope you are enjoying an easy pregnancy so far. I am due about a week later than you with my second child. Had a c-section the previous time. Hoping for a vbac this time around, so definately doing the hospital thing.

2kidmamma, I am so glad business is better. I haven't picked up much, but I was obese to begin with so I am really hoping not to pick up any weight.

Sicha, Good to hear from you again. Your little one is growing nicely!'

Firefly, its great that you have been able to pass the kidney stone. Take care of yourself!

Champers, how are you doing? Have you been able to find a gynae yet?

Michellejvv, I am so glad your Dad is doing ok. I am definately going to do a 4D scan. Hoping to go at around 28 weeks. Post us a pic of Rebecca if you can. I hear the 4D scans are amazing.

It was soo hot this weekend. I am really wondering when is it going to start to cool down.
I did some shopping over the weekend. Sadly not really anything for the baby, but more for the house and for Lene. She is turning 5 in April, and I thought to get a headstart on the presents. My darling daugter decided she is tired of her hairstyle, and decided to give her hair a trim!

Hi all, happy to see everyone is doing well... how hot is it durban moomies??? I had 3 cold showers and a swim yesterday just to try and keep cool!! My dad had his big op on Friday afternoon, they removed just over 1kg's worth of diseased lymph glands and tumor masses from his left hand side under his arm and about half that under his right arm. His surgeon is very confident she got everything but she wants to follow up with radiation therapy just to eradicate anything on a microscopic level. So between the heat and travelling up and down to the hospital all weekend, I am physically and emotionally exhausted at the moment. I have to say though, the hospital is amazing- dad is being treated at Albert Luthuli and the staff and the facilities and the doctors are truely amazing- first class!! On Friday night they even let my step-mom and I into the recovery ward to be with my dad as he was coming around and so that his surgeon could chat with us about everything. He is doing very well post op, better than anticipated actually, so that is answered prayer.

Is anyone else having a 4d scan? I found out last week that part of the booking fee (R500) at Nu Shifa includes a free 4d scan!! So I'm going on Thursday morning... really looking forward to it and hope we get some nice shots of Rebecca- 32 weeks is right at the limit for a good 4d scan apparently, so hope it's not too late! Rebecca has stopped kicking as much as she used to, now she's into rolling from left to right and 'bouncing' up and down... it feels so weird when she rolls from left to right though, can actually feel her shoulders moving across my stomach- reminds me that I'll be pushing those shoulders out soon

Hi Ladies!

I have passed my kidney stone :) Thankfully I had no pain at all, just a little discomfort - felt a bit like a UTI.

2kmm - so glad to hear business is going well :) I think I have also picked up about 7kg (11 if you count the 4 I lost during morning sickness!)

Anni- sounds like you had an awesome trip. How was the wedding? Sounds like you guys have a difficult decision to make between Dubai and the US. Disneyworld will be cool - but you probably won't be able to go on any rides!

Champers - sorry to hear about your gynae! Hope you manage to find a new doc.

Sicha - Glad to hear you and baby are doing okay :)

Adele - Strange that the doctor's office is giving you the run around. My iron level also tested low last week so now I'm supplementing.

Nosh - welcome! There are a few of us due in early June. My guess date is 12 June. I can't help you with the preggy shake but I am planning a natural unmedicated birth. I'm with a group of doctors at the moment but am going to move to a midwife. I'm doing a course called hypnobabies (hynobabies.com) to help prepare for natural birth (loving it!) and I've done tons of research and reading (Ina May's "Guide to Childbirth" is a good place to start, lots of natural birth stories and tips). There's also hypnobirthing which a few of the ladies on moomies have used (and Hasie and Nefertiti are hypnobirthing instructors if you are interested). Where are you based? If you're in Jhb, I would highly recommend that you check out Genesis Clinic if you haven't already looked at it.

thankx guys!!

I dont know the gender of my baby yet by choice would like to know if anyone else here has chosen not to know?

Also would like to know if anyone else here is drinking the mom2b preggy shake or has taken it before. I coudlnt stomach any prenatal vitamin my whole pregnancy and i got too tired and sleeply lately so i started taking the preggy shake and its going down well and tastes great but ever since ive started it my stools have been v watery and loose. not going to the toilet more than once a day or feeling dehydrated so its not a runny tummy. was wondering what everyone else thinks about the shake.

also, wht kind of birth ru guys planning to have and ru gonna do it thru a dr or a midwife? this is my first baby, i had a miscarriage last year feb at six weeks cuz i didnt know i was pregnant and took the wrong medications for fever. my gp is handling my pregnancy at the moment and I am hoping to have a natural birth.

also any tips and stuff from previous momies abt how to increase ur chances of a natural birth?

take care everyone :)

Hi Ladies and Welcome Nosh.

It's very quiet here the last while. It's been very hectic on my side but I am totally thankful because business is doing really well so I can't complain. I am also really just so much more releived now that I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel for me financially.

Shame Firefly, I really hope the kidney stone passes without any trouble. I have had 3 Kidney stones in the last 3 years one of which was when I was 10 weeks pregnant with my Son and I thought I was having a miscarriage. As someone put so aptly in a previous post, it is so rediculously painful that I am sure I have felt what severe labour is really like even if I never pushed my own baby out. I had to change my diet quite a bit and make sure I drink plenty of water. It is preventative but then you really need to know what kind of kidney stone it is. I sure hope yours passes without any hassles.

Ah, champers, I am so sorry your Gyne is letting you down like that. It must have come as a really big shock. I hope you sort something out for the rest of your pregnancy.

@ Adele, it's so bad that your Gyne hasn't contacted you regarding the results esspecially as they seem to be low and need to be treated so you can start feeling better and not so incredibly tired. I also suffer from low iron and have to take supplements.

Wow Anni, India, that's quite a trip I beleive. You are so well travelled, I am seriously jealous! Enjoy your scan, I also don't know what the sex of my baby is but that is by choice so at this stage you arn't the only one.

Anyhow, all is well on this side, just starting to get really really big and uncomfortable. All my pants are pressing on my bladder (Maternity pants) and I spend half my life at the ladies room. I wonder what I weigh now? I had picked up 7Kg's at my last scan.

Take care all
