Hello All,
Wow its been ages since I last posted...
@Stacey - good luck with your move. How was your scan on Thursday? Do you know the gender?
@2kidmama - not sure what happened with Std bank. Hope that everything is sorted out but I see that you are quite relieved now. The last thing you need when preggies is financial strain. But don't worry. I have learnt that money is something that comes and goes. Things have a way of working out eventually.
@Michellejvv - wow! 1.9kg. You must be feeling loads of kicking in there. Baby is going to run out of space very soon. I'm sure you must be extremely excited now with only 10 weeks to go.
@AdeleF - Looks like a busy weekend ahead. Hope you have a lovely one. Grandparents are such special people. Enjoy the birthday.
@Firefly - oh no... a kidney stone while preggies? I hear that trying to pass one is like labour pains. I hope that it passes soon.
Well from me... the past few weeks have been quite exciting and interesting!
I went to India and I survived to tell the tale. Loved Mumbai. What an amazing city of parallel worlds with rich and poor living side by side. DD just wanted to jump into every tuk tuk she saw on the road. Things were ok at the in-laws. My FIL is so sad and depressed. I guess you spend over 50 years with someone and suddenly they are not there makes their absence even more difficult to deal with. DH is much better now. I can only support him right now. He thinks about his mom a lot.
I started listing and selling all my electronic items as they won't work in US. People are crazy here in Dubai. They call at 11:30pm wanting to come at 12:00am to see my goods. I had to switch my phone off last night because of the odd hours people were calling. Started packing up and clearing out old clothing and shoes to give to charity. I can see that this move is not going to be easy!
I finally have my scan on Wednesday. I'm probably the only one that doesn't know what the gender is

. At least I will know what to do with DD's clothing once confirmed so I am hoping the little munchkin is not shy on that day. I knew about DD at 20 weeks so bought "everything" girly and being the first I really went to town. She only wore some of her clothing once. At least I have a friend here who has given birth in December so I promised her the clothing if I am having a boy. And then I have another friend who had a son last May so she is keeping his stuff for me. You don't really mind when its your 2nd or 3rd baby but get so sensitive when people try to give you their seconds for your 1st baby. Its quite odd!
I won't be going to Kenya as planned but DH is leaving on Sunday morning for a quick business trip.
We will be going to New York and Orlando at the end of March. DH has his annual conference in Orlando so we will use the opportunity to activate our green cards and do our LSD on areas in NJ & NY. Can't wait to go back to Disneyworld. I think I was more excited than DD the last time.
And another set of great news... DH has just been promoted to GM. He hasn't yet informed his boss about our green cards or plans to move. In normal circumstances we would be extremely happy and would be celebrating this but now we are not so sure! We have an opportunity of a lifetime to move to the US as legal permanent residents and at the same time things are really shaping up here in Dubai. I really thought we would never survive on 1 salary but it seems like we are doing much better without the 2nd income. So right now we are so confused. We already spent at least R30k on the entire immigration process with medicals etc but there are so many unknowns if we move as well. I just hope that it all works out!
Anyway... another day of dust and sand on the horizon. I'm walking around with a feather duster in hand for the past 2 days with all these awful sand storms.
Enjoy the week ladies!
