Hi there ladies

Haven't been on for a while as I have been running around at work alot. How are all you ladies doing?

@MTC - congrats on team pink hun!! So happy for you and I know how long you have waited for this
@Ninies - well done on trying the breastfeeding again. I breastfed my son for just over a year but think I won't breastfed that long this time and with the work I have now. First time I had a NUK manual pump and I bought the tommee tippee electric now ( was on special at takealot). Honestly the Medela is way overpriced for me. Oh and if uou struggle with milk supply again try drinking jungle juice from the day baby is born, it really does help!
@Maj - glad your nanny is back!
@Lisa - good luck with babyshower
@Jaybee - what a gorgeous bump!!

AFM - have my 25 week scan tomorrow. Lisa I think my ceaser will be second week of April so right behind you. Looking forward to seeing our little girl again.

I only now started getting things and we decided on a name at last, it will be Miecke (I really wanted Riley but hubby wasn't too keen). This weekend I want to start to assemble the compactum and cot and start working on her room ao I can get a proper idea of what I still need and what I actually have! Looking forward to that

@LisaMcK - So glad your LG is doing so well. April is around the corner, although it still feels a long way from there. I used Tommee Tippee bottles and I was very happy with them. My son just could not take to the dummy they had at that time, but I see they have a new shape dummy nowadays that I will try.

I have only bought a few new born vests and 2 baby grows. I was thinking that I should be fine-ish if it is a boy with all the clothes I kept from my firstborn. Well, I am not. I packed it all out in December to see what there was and because he was a November baby, the seasons are so out of sync. I had really warm baby grows for 6 -12 months but when this baby is 6 months old it will be October - way too hot for a winter baby grow. So I donated 3 bags full of baby clothes and stuff to my mom's church. I have one or two baby blankets that was still nice and lots of baby shoes. I love shoes so I bought so many for my son when he was a baby.

Hi ladies

My sister used to use Tommee Tippee with her first but now she swears by Nuk. I have had no experience whatsoever with baby items but am following my sisters recommendations. I have bought some Huggies New Baby and Pigeon breast pads :) I got some nice Woolies receiving blankets, bibs and some clothes for Christmas pressies but will also wait till my baby shower.

@ Lisa, yes it is so special seeing the little one again. You probably cant wait to kiss those cheeks!

@ Ninies, you mustve loved the rain as its still boiling here in Cpt.

I had my scan this morning and all is well with baby and she is weighing 588g and 26cm at 22 weeks. Also I fell off my horse some years ago and amoungst other things I broke my coccyx in 3 places and the doc said that he will do the check at 34 or so weeks to see if baby is still so big and if my coccyx healed property as if not then it will be a cesarean for me. Was hoping that I can do natural and even going to the HypnoBirthing classes next week, so will have to wait and see.
Also I gained 3kg in 4 weeks and don't think its a good idea to gain to much weight especially when baby is big, lol but I cant say no to biscuits!

* TTC baby #1 for 1.5 years
(tried naturally for 1 year - anovulatory cycles)
(medicated Fertomid cycles for 5 months)
BFP - 1 Sept 2015 - un medicated cycle
TTC baby #2 - October 2017
BFP - 3 January 2018

TTC baby #3 in 2021

Hello Ladies

I went for another scan yesterday and it was awesome seeing my LG again - it left like my last scan was ages ago.
She has such cute chubby cheeks and weighing in at a healthy 940g. My appointments have now been bumped up to every 2 weeks. I am about 95% sure we are doing a caesarean for the first week in April. Where is time disappearing to...?

I read on Facebook that you are allowed to buy a baby monitor using your medical aid at Dischem (provided you have MSA funds available) - has anyone heard of the same thing or perhaps done it in the past?

I have bought a few odds and ends for my LG but most certainly not everything... just waiting for my baby shower first and then I will purchase what ever else is needed. I know at this stage I have no new-born clothing and only 2 receiving blankets.

After chatting around to friends etc., it seems Tommee Tippee bottles are quite popular. I only have 4 at the moment but I know a family member has bought me quite a few more... :)

What Brand Names are you sticking to in terms of baby toiletries and nappies etc.?

@ ninies, I am very lucky, the co. I work for is really understanding! Its the Client which is just unreasonable!!

I think we will stick with Nuk. The dummy and bottles worked for us the last time around.
I havent bought any of this. Beginning to panic a little as I have the big things from my daughter's time, but have bought this baby almost nothing!!

Does everyone already have blankets, clothes, bottles, etc?

Hi ladies,

@Maj - So good to hear your nanny is ok and that she is on her way. Gosh, I think that is a stressful situation to be in and most companies dont understand when it comes to your children.

Thanks for your input and advise on the breast pump. I am going to save and buy one closer to the due date. The other option is the Tommee Tippee electric one which is alot cheaper than the Spectra and Medela but I would first need to research some reviews on it. I am going to buy tommee Tippee bottles again - I was very happy with them the first time.

How is all the other ladies doing? We had lovely rain in Pta last night / this morning, so it is a bit cooler - and I am loving it.

@ninnies, finally got hold of her! turns out she was stuck at the border since Friday, and her battery died before she could send me a message. she did not think it would take so long to get through.

i definitely think the electric pump is the way to go. The manual one I used previously took forever!! My hands used to get tired pumping!!
I dont think I would go for the double pump. My daughter only fed from one side at a time anyway. but I guess I might have to pump more often.
I am on the same page, i really dont want to waste money and buy something that doesn't work for me, or worse one that is too fancy!
