He he... well kaelyn walks confidently in any shoes she comes across... just bends down and puts them on... daddy's or mine or any visitors... so we were sure that falling in them wasnt too big a problem

Kaelyn still has her dummy, but only at night. Or if she has a bad fall or scare i might give it to her for a few minutes. At creche i send her dummy along, but they don't give it to her unless absolutely necessary... so i am not too worried about giving it up... she also has a linus bear/blankie at night and if she takes the dummy she asks for the blanket too and if you give her the blanket she wants the dummy, the two are really inseperable.

I personally will just wait until she gives them up. I also started telling her she's a big girl/clever girl whenever she willingly hands over the dummy.

It is rather quiet here!!!

So, we got the news on Tuesday afternoon that the house is ours! Delayed transfer as current owners need to find a place to stay now, so we move in on 6 August. Very excited!!

How many of your LO's are using dummies? Emily used to only take hers when she wanted to sleep, but lately she has been asking for it ALL the time - she is very attached to it. Just wanted to hear when and how you plan on taking away the dummy. Emily is officially off the bottle (been about 2 weeks now), but I have no idea how Im gonna get rid of the dummy Im happy to let her have her dummy until the end of the year, but just wondered what other moms are doing.

Had a hectic few weeks - but in a good way

We were going to go on holiday with my parents sometime in May. However, they realised they would be too busy with work, so said we should just use their Holiday Club points, and go for a 'mid-week' holiday alone - BUT it had to be before April (new 'book' year, some points were going to expire). So we had about two weeks to plan a holiday!

I wanted to take Willem to see the sea, and also be close enough to Durban to take him to Ushaka. Problem was, most places were fully booked - in the end we got a flat at Pumela (close to Port Shepstone). We had lots of fun, although Willem spent more time in the pool than on the beach .
Poor baba didn't like the sea at all! Was even scared to go onto the sand at first. It took us the full 5 days to get him into the water!

He did love Ushaka though - we took him to both the aquarium and the water park. He even went down the 'kiddie' super tubes with us

nothing like taking time off in the busiest week of the month... i am absolutely positively swamped.

Can we please rewind back to last week thursday? I would far rather spend the day on the beach... LOL

anyway, so so sorry to read about your terrible morning sickness Girly, praying that it passes soon!

I havent, but I must go when I have some cash to spend. I did love the puzzle with the music when you find the right piece it makes the animal sound!

Joybaby – my mom is great. I just said to DH that I am not sure who I miss more – Emily or my mom!! Since I had to clean up my own breakfast dishes, unpack the dishwasher, put a load of washing in the machine and then put it on the line, make my own bed and take something out the freezer for supper (all before I left for work this morning!! I now realise how spoilt I am!!

As for the toys, have you been to Plastics for Africa yet??? We should make a date and go - they have the most amazing educational toys at giveaway prizes!! The section that you saw upstairs at my house - the puzzles and such - well 90% of them come from plastics for Africa!!

So glad to hear the scan went well and that baba is doing good hope the ms passes soon!!
