Pinky, I'm just thinking about your bottle dilemma. I'm wondering if it would be ok to seal them with the lid until you need them?? But I guess that would also depend on which bottles you're using... But it's just a guess - maybe get the opinion of someone more suitable qualified.

Pinky, I use the bottles straight away after microwave-sterilising them. But I'm making formula in them, so it's easy to make up a few bottles. When I'm expressing I use the stupid Medela bottle that came with the stupid Medela pump, but it doesn't have a teat, so I decant it into a sterilised Avent bottle when I have enough for a feed.

We also have a swing for Emily. It works sometimes and sometimes not. Just depends on her mood, I guess.

Went to the paed for her 6-week appointment today and everything seems fine. She seems to be gaining the correct amount of weight, which means the guesswork with the topping-up with the formula is working. Meags, you were spot on about the umbilical hernia. He's convinced it will go down soon and says it's not that bad.

Welcome back Janine. Good to hear from you. Been wondering how you and the little one were doing. Has anyone heard from the mom with the twins? I think her name was Meg, but my memory's not too great.

When you're finished sterilizing, do you just keep the bottles in the cupboard until you use them? I am clueless with these things and just want to do the right thing... hahaha

@Pinky I sterilise my bottles the same way Desiree does, did the same for my daughter, she is 4yrs old and never had gastro or anything.

Hi Pinky - I use Tommee Tippee bottles and I have their microwave sterilizer and I love it! After washing my bottles in warm soapy water, I zap them in the sterilizer, microwave for 6 minutes and voila, all done - easy peasy!
