Sorry to jump in...
BOJ-Four months down the line, and my milk is basically dried up but I still have to wear breastpads.

Oh, I'm still spotting too - been 5 weeks since the birth.

Bundle, the pain seems to be muscular. I think I overexerted myself picking up Emily. I'm using a Medela Mini-Electric - I think the swing one's much better. I also had the Avent electric one - it was fantastic but then I dropped it into water...

Beansmom...Mmm..I can't remember exactly but I think I bled for 2 weeks was wearing thin pads, and not bleeding much, then I moved onto pantyliners as I was just spotting. By 6 weeks all was fine and now I have my periods again...blah!! Can't wait for it to be gone!

Its so crap having to wear breastpads as well, wonder if we will need to wear them till we stop breastfeeding!

How did you find the espressing? What pump are you using? Did you manange the 70mls in one go?

Yes - we are still using the sleep tonic after night time feeds and yes it is still working... She doesn't fall asleep immediately - but within 30 minutes she is down! Which i can handle I asked the Chiropractor this morning about the homeopathic meds that I'm using and she was very happy with it... very safe!

Tayla went to the Chiropractor this morning - and she did find that she needed alignment on 2 of her vertabrae as well as one side of her neck... so she has been aligned.. and we go back for the final appointment on saturday mornign to make sure that she is still in alignment and that everything is ok! She is FAST asleep now and has been since 11:00 - so already an improvment!

We did the first expressed bottle feed last night at 9pm... the first few sucks on the bottle she choked a little while she was getting used to it - but after that took to it perfectly - and i topped up with boob after... (Bottle only had 70ml)...

Question: How long did everyone bleed after the birth?? Tayla is 4 weeks on Friday and I'm still wearing pads!!!! Urgh! So unattractive!!! I feel like i'm padded up all over with the breastpads on as well!!!

Morning Ladies

Shew Luke is sleeping now so I have some time to come on here, yesterday he did not sleep much at all during the day, just wanted to be held the whole time, it makes it difficult to do anything around the house, even making lunch was an issue. So am hoping today will be different.

Well ladies I'm going to get very personal here... we did the deed last weekend and it was a bit sensitive for me, guess not having it for 2 months it should be sensitive. And now this week I got my periods (after being on the microval pill for a week only)...blah!! It has been quite heavy the past 2 days, now day 4 so am hoping it will taper off soon.

I have noticed that my breasts have not been as full during my periods, can menstruation supress breastmilk supply?

I tried espressing a bottle last night and only mananged 40mls so I gave up will go back to espressing next week when my periods have stopped as I'm thinking it may be that, so will see. Also this would make sense why Luke has been so fidgety maybe my boy was not getting enough milk!

Luckily my milk supply during the night seems to be ok as I wake up with hard breasts and he sleeps well after his feed.

Some good news, We have found a Daymother for Luke in the same street that we live in, about 5 houses up from us, so convenient and such a relief!! She also supplies food so I won't need to pack that in just his bottles. And by then Luke will be on solids as he will be 6 months old.

jacadebra - good luck with the vaccinations today, hope it all goes smoothly

ScribblingAl - well the espressing is not going too well for me now, so you not the only one. I'm using the Avent manual pump and it takes forever! As you can see above I only managed 40mls last night. What does the pain under your c-section feel like? I had like a burning pulling stich feeling the first week after my op and it was extremely painful when I had to sit or stand up, but its fine now. What my gynea did tell me is that the internal stitches only start dissolving from around 6 weeks so you may feel some movement of the stitches which could cause some pain, perhaps its that. Let us know what the gynea says. Glad you going to see him. Are you going to see the peadiatrition at 6 weeks? Maybe he can help with advice on the breastfeeding and why your LO cries, maybe its cramps and not hunger? Take it easy and I hope it all gets better for you.

Jacadebra , good luck with Lia's vacc's today , hope all goes well and that she doesn't get sick.Shame those stuff are hard on their little bodies.

Happy 2 months Des , I can't believe how fast the time is going by.It feels like yesterday we all had 2week olds.

Scribbling , I used a Medala swing breastpump which I was really happy with.I hope you feel better , having a baby and coping with everything is really hard and nothing in this world can prepare you for it.I remember when liebe was 4weeks old all I did was cry and cry nothing cheered me up and everything just seemed too much but hang in there we are all here for you.Hope you gynea can sort out the pain from the c-section.

Pinky , i've got a front loader and I'm using sunlight have not had any problems yet.Glad the thrush is getting better.

Lientjie , how's your little girl doing after the vacc's is she back to her normal self now.

Mommy21 I can think how frustrating it must be note being able to when you want to.

I can also do the get together in the week as long as it is before June the 15th as I have to go back to work.
