Joli shame man re Callum, W has also been colic like today from about six pm he's been moaning shame and not happy. I gave him a lvoely big feed at 5pm so can't understand why. It's that wakeful time I guess and let's hope it doesn't progress and is a one off poor little thing!!!

Lucy - with the c-section they put a big pad on you and you have a catheter - so basically you just lie in bed which is awesome. the next day they take out the catheter then they tell you to go shower (very good!) and then you easily put on your pad.

steriliser - just use straight from steriluser re the dummy i find the ones with lidshelp sterilise both and pop in yr bag

Lucy - hehehe. You'll start bleeding as soon as Tessa is welcomed into the world. Basically what will happen after your caeser is they will put a linen saver under your bum and a few swabs and pads between your legs.
Once back in the ward, the nurses will frequently be checking up on the bleeding. And until you are able to get up and have a shower they will take care of the swabbing and pads. I was up having a shower about 5 hours after caeser. And then into my pjs. After that I took care of myself regarding pads

And the steriliser. You don't need to dry the bottles or dummies. But you must use them within 24hrs - I think. With my dummies I prefer to use sterilon liquid that you add to water. I took it with to hospital. Otherwise the nursery will have steam sterilizers that you could use.

Lucy - the nurses will put a pad on for you .

Mmmm I would also like to know re the sterilizing - haven't figured that out as yet - I just leave it wet!

Meags - I would have taken the car keys and driven myself home and left him to find his own way home, colleague and all!

Tazzy - Whoop whoop on the milk supply and 3 hours. I have gripe water already, loved it as a child so not gonna hold back. I am enjoying my weekend, although finding myself incredibly emotional. Guess the enormity of everything is hitting home!!

Kimika - Yip theclock is ticking. No DH has not done the cupboard doors and I don't have the energy to stress any more. Found a cute white lion - taking it too hospital. I also saw a baby buck that had huge eyes was gorgeous but almost R150 !!! So he stayed in the shop.
I am sure R will smile in no time. A big cheesy just for Mommy.

Joli - Wow Callum has grown, he is looking strong with his head nice and high!

Cath - Lovely pics !!! Do you ever not smile, I think your crying jags were in your dreams You are just radiant !!
Oh and I agree ..... think I'll be in good company this week. But I think Meags is going to keep going longer than we suspect (sorry Meags!!)

Question : After a c sec how long before the bleeding starts? How do you put one of those pads on if you can't move your legs and go to loo? Sorry this is really bugging me!

Question 2 : When you sterilise in the microwave .... how do you dry the goodies without unsterilising them? I sterilised the dummy to put in the bag for hospital and i left it in the steriliser to dry off but it is still wet after almost the whole day!!

Meags - your DH reminds me a lot of Kayla's dad! I sommer get cross just thinking about it. I really hope for your sake he comes around. You would think he's 20!

Nope, Callum is not smiling as yet. Most babies will only smile when they are 6 weeks old. We need to count back 8 weeks, so he will most probably only be smiling close to 14 weeks . Vix said her twins started smiling when they were supposed to be 5 weeks old, so we will see what Callum's up to.

Well I'm feeling terrible, but I've given Callum colic drops the last couple of nights, otherwise he will be awake from 18h30 until after 12 and then still wake up 2/3 hourly to feed. He moans and groans the whole time. The colic drops seems to work. He doesn't have a dummy, so I give it to him just like that.

Anje - seems things are really happening for you!

Kimika - well done your boy's nice weight gain! Why did you take him to the clinic? Must I take Callum? I don't even know what he weights now. Thought I must only take him for his jabs now!

OK and look at Callum lifting his head! Took this picture yesterday - exactly 2 months old . Excuse the bold spot he he - that's where they shaved his hair for the drip.
