Feb-May 2011 Mommies

Hi ladies! Been soo busy – today I had a spa morning with my sister (my mom babysat) we were gone 2 hours I missed W terribly!  Then I had my work colleagues including boss over for tea – William behaved beautifully!! And slept so well last night yay!!! Dh did the 5am feed which made a massive difference as I could carry on sleeping! Now just chilling, house is sparkling (our maid worked so well today!!) and W is sleeping.

Joli – happy happy 2 months for Callum!!

Kimika – awesomeness re Reuben’s growth and weight gain! Well done!! I know how nice it feels to see evidence that your lo is progressing – well done! Sorry to only get back now re the EBM – just can’t do it much anymore totally ran out of steam, I’m doing breastfeeding and topping up. It’s suiting William and it’s working for me. I still have the damn pump which cost R500 to hire sitting in the corner of the lounge and I can’t bear to use it so I’m not going to and going to return it. Everything feels really manageable (not easy but definitely manageable) so I’m leaving the expressing it might send me over the edge lol!!!

Meags! What’s happening!?!? Did I miss something?!? Are you dilating?? That’s great news isn’t it? Re the woman and the hair comment OMG totally and utterly inappropriate!!! Sounds like she has a crush on yoru dh and is jealous of you hence the agro – try and ignore her! Same with the stalker, lol, can you not hide her comments so at least you don’t have to see them. Otherwise, just try and be tolerant, shame she is probably trying to show her enthusiasm and be friendly!

Lucy, so it’s next Friday hey! Isn’t maternity leave just glorious! It’s even better when your lo is here! Dying to hear about everything in detail of your experience etc etc! 

Mistymom, glad you are feeling better! Yay re your scan and 35 week milestone!!!

Tazzy, hoping that damn clot passes soon!!

oh yes I had to have a little giggle (at DH of course!)
He wants to "show off" the baby once he's born.
So he said we must have a gathering with his colleagues so they can meet the baby.
So I said fine.
So he says soon after the birth...I say how soon...he says "maybe 1 week?" hehehe men...
I then ask him where.
he says "at a bar?"
HAHAHAHA
I say "a bar with a newborn?!" and he says not like a bar bar...like a restaurant type place. so he's meaning like an evening dinner.

his next suggestion was for us to host it at our house! Yip...can see me wanting to cook and prepare and clean for guests...with my milk supply JUST coming in, hormones haywire...

OK so who thought once I started Mat leave I'd be sitting on Moomies all day ............ me!! But guess that is not happening. Sorry I have been quiet.
Thanks Meags for the wishes!! Who ever was asking I am 36 today! DH had to work today so he took me to "celebrate" yesterday. I got taken for a massage and pedi, then lunch, then out shopping, got a lovely handbag. He also suprised me with a smartphone so I'll be in contact when I am in hospital!!

Meags - I am so excited for you ..... you may just be before me after all! Or share a day!!

Tazzy - Hope the gynae gets back to you soon and that darn clot takes a freaking hike! Hope the Bfing settles into a routine again, although it sounds like you get loads when you express...... regular dairy cow in the making.

so I have this friend...(Kimika the one who requested u on FB - apparently she thought you were one of the girls we did nursing with...not that she was friends with her anyway...and you look nothing alike...but anyway...)
She is stalking me on facebook! I think she has registered to receive notifications whenever I post something.
Literally as I do a status update or post a photo or a blog entry, she IMMEDIATELY makes a comment. Literally within 2 minutes! Every single time!!
She then also BBM's me and tells me the same thing she said on FB. Like she needs me to see her comment STRAIGHT AWAY.

It really gets on my nerves. I mean...if I don't say something back to her FB comment - its not like it's rude?! I cant respond to EVERYTHING she says to me!

And everything is completely over the top. When I post photos - instead of just saying 'lovely' or 'nice big tummy' or something simple, she always writes something like
"WOAH! stunning photos. MY GOSH that is truly amazing. WOW"
and its like that for EVERY.SINGLE.THING she comments on

I wish I could tell her to tone it down and bit and to say that she does not need to BBM me after making a FB comment as I will see the comment when I go on FB....but I know if I say something to her, she will take huge offence and get all depressed.

I am dreading all her comments on the baby photos...Literally when I see she's made a comment on something, I'm immediately irritated...

Am I being silly or could you see this annoying you too?
Cos other people's comments dont annoy me. At least theirs just seem sincere, normal.

oh yes and happy birthday to Lucy!!! How cool your baby and you will only be 1 week apart

well clearly nothing happening yet for me
Amy I will most definitely do a post before going to hospital and if its too much chaos I will post from my phone in the car (I do have a whole hour in the car since the hospital is so far!) so you ladies will hear from me one way or another.
I also started a thread under the 'birth stories in the making' and someone will update there for me (I will update them from BBM)

Still dont feel anything. Just been feeling a little nauseas the last 3-4 days but nothing hectic or overwhelming. Just a small change I noticed. Going to be going for a walk shortly...baby needs to engage!!!! Then going to lunch with some friends and got my massage at 6:30 tonight and then we going to dinner with DH's colleague who is just here for the night. Massage lady is going to try stimulate some points to bring on labour. I was all for that at first but now that I know i'm dilating - actually it scares me!!

I asked DH what he wants to do this weekend since he's not working and he said "can we do something since you're about to give birth?" so I said yes, meaning we can still go to the beach or a movie or walk around a mall. and he came up with the idea of going to the Everglades to the swamps which is 2 hours away needless to say we wont be doing that....

Kimika - thanks for the encouragement! I was sooo close to popping open the formula tin last night. She woke up at 1am and would not settle until 4am then she was up at 5 again. I must just have a hungry monster! I gave her a bottle for the first time today - with EBM. And she took it beautifully. I seem to express about 80ml in a go. And she only finished about 60ml.

I'm so sure she is having a bit of reflux though. Cos when ever I put her down to sleep she become restless, but can sleep all day on my shoulder or chest.
So I have put her to sleep in the pram now sitting slighly upright. She seems happy. Just fed her - but she only drank for 15mins off one boob.

As for my clot - (AFMC) LOL!! I have emailed my gyn to see how much longer I can expect this bleeding to carry on. I hope he replies soon. So I'm still douching in the meantime. I am so over this now. I actually just want the d and c so I feel normal again!
