Meags, I am holding thumbs that the massage did help and that M arrives soon. Oh my goodness, it is so inconsiderate of your DH, hope you gave him a piece of your mind. What time did you get home? Try to go for a walk, even if you are tired.

Betty, ah lovely having DH home. Enjoy your nieces party and especially enjoy your day at Hermanus, I love Hermanus. Let’s hope the heat is not too bad.

AFM: Ok, so I had a little scare last night, before we went to bed I started having BH one after the other, but eventually fell asleep and around 02h00 I woke up with more intense BH again one after the other and then it felt like during each BH there was some pressure downwards and I almost felt like I wanted to do a number two and I even had lower back pain. Eventually I sat straight up in bed and then L started moving wildly with each BH. It wasn’t really sore but I just kept thinking my dr is not here, she cannot come now, I stood up finalised a couple of last minute things for my hospital bag, loaded friends and family’s numbers on baby boom and went back to bed praying that L will wait till late Monday night or Tuesday. Both BH and L settled down after a while. My poor hubby wanted to help, but didn’t know what to do, he wanted to rub my back and my tummy, but that just irritated me for some reason. We were supposed to go out to the farmers market with friends, but I told DH that he should go, I am just taking it easy, I’ll phone him if I need him. When he left this morning at 05h00 I had slight AF cramps, but I tried my best to relax and fall asleep again and did, I slept until 09h30 this morning and feel much better. Let’s hope she stays inside till after the weekend. PS: We were invited to the rugby game at Loftus, but I don’t think I am going to go now.

Meags - agh no man your dh is selfish, selfish, selfish. Unless you point it out to him he clearly can't see it. You are a heavily pregnant woman for heavens sake! When M comes you got to seriously lay down the law, i mean taking him to meet the work colleagues in a restaurant for God's sake at 1 week! Just makes me cross you are so prepared and knowledgeable and committed and he is just acting like a total and utter self centred fool. I hope you can both look back at this period and say wow what an idiot I was now I know better!!!!!

Faw I love your posts! YOu are so positive and strnog with a can-do attitude, and such a committed mom, and daughter! It's awesome to see.

BTW - any thoughts on Gripe Water? I gave it to W I think twice -once the normal one which has alcohol in it which I wasn't happy about and second time the alcohol free one. (Dipped dummy in it) It seems like not such a good idea or what? It's supposed to be a soothing thing i.e. has sugar, alcohol, etc so it does not seem natural to give to a baby?? W hasn't needed it really maybe I'll change my mind later!

Joli, has callum smiled yet? I can't WAIT to see W smile, he has little ghosts of smiles (gas!?) so far and it's gorgeous!!!! i love putting him over my shoulder and his cheek against my cheek my dh says he closes his eyes in bliss!! It's so AWESOME being a mom oh my word!!

Kimika- yay, so wonderful that Ruben is growing to nicely, there is no better feeling than going to the clinic and being told that good news.. Especially when you are breast feeding and don't know for sure how much milk baby is getting.

Mistmom- glad you feeling a bit better.. Those baby or toddler doses of antibiotics take long to kick in?.. Hello for the lady at the pharmacy - saying your amniotic fluid may dry up. Which pharmacy? Remind me not to go there..

Joli- congrats on Callum's 2 months. Time has flown by. How much does he weigh now?

Meags- gee your stalker friend sounds unreal. But I guess in today's world with BB phones etc people are on FB all the time. I find it so anoying if I al talking to someone or having lunch and they are busy on the phone. Try not responding to her comments...perhaps she will get the message.
Sorry the massage was disappointing..wonder what the result will be. Can't wait to hear how M progresses, so exciting.
Shame about your dinner, you should have something to eat before you go out. I too would have been peeved. Sounds like they just want to have drinks and the when they had had enough to drink then have a bite to eat. I don't know how you manage- these days I am asleep at about 9 pm..

Anje - hoping baby stays in this weekend. My gynae is off during the Easter weekend, around about when baby is due. I am also hoping that she does not make her arrival on his off week-end. Matthew was born on the week- end and I was really lucky it was his week- end on. It was great because he never had patients he kept coming around to Check onme etc. More so than he would if I was in labour during the week I would think. It was quite strange, he would say ok I am going for a 10 k jog and then come back in his running outfit..
Glad you never had too much hassles at Uif.

Schatsie - so pleased that the swollen hands and feet are nothing to be concerned about. Is the stocking helping?

Afm- had a friend over for supper, DH only git home way after midnight, after flying PE to Jhb ,then Jhb to Ct. Well at least he is home.... It's my nieces 4 th birthday party today. Then Sunday we are going to Hermanus for the day.
Supposed to be very very hot today, let's hope I survive...

So the massage has made Matt exceptionally active-to the point that's its very sore when he moves!!

I am beyond pissed off with DH. A colleague of his is here for 1 night so he said we have to meet him for dinner. Fine. He is staying near us so I said we should just eat in our area since we have to pick him up and drop him off.

He says other people want to join-so I said they can come to our area. I don't wanna go to Miami beach as that's 20 minutes from us and its already 20 minutes to pick up his friend (so therefore almost 40 minutes to Miami beach). Plus I am starving and said if we are only going to eat at 10pm then I'm not going cos I need to eat asap.

Well guess what? We're at f*cking Miami beach- its 10pm and we are at his friends house so they can drink. They haven't even chosen a restaurant yet. And we obviously need to still take his friend home after the meal. DH is just talking to everyone and ignoring the fact that I'm pissed off.

ok so massage was a bit disappointing in the sense that she spent about 85% pressure pointing and 15% massaging!! really did also want a massage actually!

but anyway. Matthieu responded to the pressure points in the way that when she stimulated them, he moved most of the time. Apparently this is good.
Also, after the internal examination yesterday I had some bleeding, but only straight after and nothing since. But after the massage, a bit more came out. So perhaps the cervix was irritated by the pressure points and also responding (my positive theory about it!!)

She says there's only a 50/50 chance of the massage working as she can see by my tummy that he is still a bit high...
So she says if anything is going to happen, it will be in about 24 hours.
So we'll see!

Don't feel different for now...no extra BH or anything. But will keep you posted if anything does change!
Plan to go for a long walk tomorrow...got nothing else to do will make sure I do that walk BEFORE I get tired towards the end of the day.
Going out to dinner tonight. Maybe I should recommend an Indian restaurant so we can eat hot spicy food since that is also suppose to be a trigger.

At this point I think if he's not out by Monday I will be a bit disappointed. But as long as when I have my next appointment there has been some more changes (like more engaging or more dilation), then I dont mind waiting. The more changes I have before labour, the less work I'll have to do once in labour!

Yip Cath...1-2cm dilated but not in labour. baby is still quite high. Gosh I can feel it in my ribs - doesnt feel like he wants to drop!!
was going to go for a 1 hour walk now before the massage but I am honestly just too exhausted. going to rather bounce on the birth ball and maybe try some start jumps or something...i just cant be bothered to go out walking!!!!!
perhaps tomorrow. Just hope I dont end up having a c-section due to me being so impatient and baby not having the time to engage...cos I will blame myself...

I cant delete the comments she makes as she is a close friend! but man she is just too intense and it's been like that for about 5 years and people even began thinking she was a lesbian and in love with me. seriously. she would sms EVERY day (sometimes up to 4 times per day) saying "sending a cuddle" or "thinking of you". I dunno....i dont like it...

feeling in 2 minds about everything.
want to try get him out cos I'm getting sore back and I'm tired and really want to meet him.
but want him to stay in cos I am really going to miss my belly.
also growing anxious as his movements have decreased drastically since last weekend. I did mention it yesterday to midwife and she said it shouldnt be less, but different. but the movements are so much smaller and are less (I know he's running out of space) so this also makes me just want him out rather.

Emsmom, I have been thinking of you the entire day. Thank goodness baba is staying in a little longer. When will you see the dr again ? Enjoy catching up with your sister.

AFM: I finished a couple of things this morning at work, had an appointment with dr and then went to UIF – I need to correct 1 form. Dr said L is now approximately 3.2 -3.3 kg and doing great. Please pray that L won’t come during this or next weekend, since my gyne will not be in PTA over the weekends.
