oh yes I wanted to make a random comment...

So there is this one couple who are here (also expats) and they were in SA before too. so we know them.
the wife has never taken a liking to me (who knows why). We are friendly to each other when we see each other but I can see she doesnt like me.
She never made an effort to meet for coffee or meet up sometime when I arrived (like all expats do!) and when I asked her to help out with some info on stuff she wasnt helpful at all. she wasnt rude, but I could see she didnt exactly even try help me out (I asked her about kennels for animals in Miami since she is an avid animal lover and adopts dogs).

anyway. she has made an effort to see other expats so she really does just have an issue with me!
she seems to take a strong liking to my DH though! She is very friendly to him all the time. I dont think much of it as I know she is not DH's type plus I know he would never do that so ya.

but she made the most random comment to him the other day at work. (she is now working as a PA for one of the boss's).
DH's hair was REALLY getting long and out of hand. His last hair cut was beginning of December!!!! So generally I am his hair dresser...so we tried to find a barber open on sunday and there was none. so we went and bought the hair clippers and I cut his hair.
so Monday she walks past and says "oh you had a hair cut??" and then carried on walking. 2 seconds later she walks back and says "I preferred it when it was all crazy"
ok now isnt that a bit weird to say to another guy??? and she is married!!

Meags - maybe it is that my milk has established itself. I have tried to express today so that maybe I could increase my supply.
I did go and buy a tiny tin of formula, just in case. But I hope I don't need to use it. She is still pooping and having loads of wet nappies so I'm sure she must be getting enough milk. I'm just concerned about the 2hrly feeds. I hope we go nack to 3and half hourly tomorrowm

Tazzy I heard once your milk is established then your boobs no longer have that "full" feeling...so maybe your milk is established now?

Meags - that's brilliant news! Get walking!!! No my clot hasn't passed yet. But I'm sure bit of it has. I'm still douching and taking cytotec. Not sure what to do next ?? I think if its still like this on tues I'm going back to see him.

Emsmom - I'm glad spec is staying in there a while longer!

Mistymom - shame hun, I hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest.

Schatsie - I really feel for you. That spd is awful. But I promise once A is here you will look back and think it was so worth all the pain.

Amy - I'll be 30 in july. Still consider myself young?!

Kimika - I find it easy to express off one boob while Amelia is feeding off the other. You always seem to express more this way. Because of the let down I suppose.
Is it normal for my boobs to feel less firm. They feel empty and its really worrying me now

Betty, yes for religious reasons I was not supposed to go to the funeral, but I spoke to several muslim friends and to an Imam eventually and they all said that it would be better for me to go so that I can say goodbye because it would be my last chance as I am not allowed in the graveyard. Rather break the church rule than the graveyard rule. The service wasn’t that religious in the end and I was waiting for them to throw me out, but that didn’t happen. My granny wasn’t a religious type of person. They had a very nice trio of Hungarian musicians and an opera singer. My granny was from Hungary and loved music. I missed the last part of the service though because Sulaiman had had enough by then and started jumping on the wooden floorboards. LOL and the people were getting irritated. I haven’t been in that church in years. I went to school there and spent many hours in that church as a child. The school has grown larger though so they cannot be doing too badly. Back in the day it was one of the few co-ed catholic schools around.
At 2045 we are having the naming ceremony and I am not sure if they are going to cut a piece of hair off or shave it all off. I am not in control of it. If they don’t shave it all off I am going to try find someone who is willing to do it for me in the next few days because to me it is something that is very important. It may not have happened in the specified time, but rather late than never.
Tazzy, the one girl that was in the room I was in when I was in recovery had dissolving stitches and they were infected. I think it depends on which gynae you land up with as to whether you get the dissolving ones or not. I wish that they had given me those because I have never had stitches put in, never mind removed. And a Caesar wasn’t my idea ever for a first operation… but then you cannot always have what you want.
Someone was asking how we cope with two children. I thank God every day for my mom. She has taken over the care of Sulaiman almost entirely. She will give him back to me as such in 5 weeks. She said I must rest as much as possible for the 1st 6 weeks and then can continue to look after Sulaiman. She is doing this because when she had her hysterectomy way back in 1998 I looked after her for 6 weeks and wouldn’t let her get out of bed. I am out of bed and get dressed etc but I am not allowed to pick anything up and my mom feeds Sulaiman and baths him. I am not sure if she wasn’t around how I would cope. He is very angry with me and refuses to hug me and gives me the odd kiss. He prefers to kiss his brother and then hurt him and then kiss him again.
AFM: last night I was up from 2am to 530am and managed a half hour sleep inbetween that and cursed myself for going to bed at 10pm instead of at 9pm when AH fell asleep. He slept for 5 hours and then the marathon of feeding between 2am and 530am. He slept again from 530am to 1030am when I decided that he better wake up and feed again as I don’t want to leave him for 2 long without anything in his tummy. This afternoon it has been 20 minute feeds every two hours. My mom left me to sleep this morning so I slept from 530am to 10am when I woke up on my own. I am not too tired today as a result, although I do find myself nodding off when I am on boob duty. Wish I could also do that lying in bed with baby on boob while I sleep, but my bed is too small for that, so the lounge at night is my second home. I have even make a makeshift bed there so that my mom can sleep next to my son in peace.

oh yes Kimika I wanted to say about expressing...
Apparently after a feed you must express each boob for 5-10 minutes. even if hardly anything is coming out.
They say that if you do this, it will increase your milk supply and then you should be able to get some milk for your freezer.

Jessica the latest from what I can remember...
EmsMom is having regular surges but has been sent home to progress and she hopes Spec will stay in a bit longer to 37 weeks.

Lucy is booked for c-section next week Friday to deliver her giant

Schatsie is suffering terribly with SPD but has been given a parking nearer to the office which is great

Anje has done her belly cast and will post pics once she's decorated it

MistyMom has flu and will be back online tomorrow

Cath and Joli are having some difficult nights with their nu nu's but still loving them to death (obviously)

Tazzy has a clot in the cervix that she is trying to get out...she has to douche a lot which her husband finds amusing

Kimika also had a spell of funny bleeding so will see the gynae tomorrow about it

BettyF has finally started preparing the nursery for her LO

Faw had her baby boy (emergency caesar) and attended her granny's funeral the othe day. her aunt was caught giving her son alcohol. there are family issues about the inheritance. she has not informed her husband of the birth yet.

H-buzz and driekie had their babies too.

Amy is new to us. she has gestational diabetes and is expecting a little girl. her sugar levels are well controlled and looks like she can try for natural birth. she lost a baby last year (you may remember her from pampers...she was post dates and baby was very big and passed away after the birth - very sad and traumatic). we are happy to have her here now and look forward to sharing in her new happiness.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!

I'm sorry I haven't been around more - I've had my hands full on this end to say the least! Trying to express in between the naps & formula top-ups is hectic!!

I'm starting to feel like my "old" self again - DH asked me the other day when we can have sex again! LOL I said "not sure will check & get back to you!"

What new everyone? I've obviously missed a bit the last few days so PLEASE could someone fill me in!
