I can't prevent my child from having fun for fear of him being molested. What must I tell him, no mommy is scared for you. I don't want to raise a scared child.

I must be very ignorant in that regard. I was always very sad as a child because I was so frightened of sleeping over at someone elses house. (we were brought up very differently to SA families) Did it only once and sneaked out at 5am because I wanted to go sleep in my own bed and walked home.

No sleeping out for my kiddies unless i know the friend and parents.

LOL...I cant say Im too strict about the TV. My 5 year old son already has one. But he only watches his movies and plays playstation...the channels arent even tuned in nor is the DSTV connected to his room. So anything else he wants to watch he does in the living room with the us or atleast with us around.

I will know if you smoking...just not infront of me please.

No closed doors...

Marijke - I'm petrified of my girls sleeping out. They do sleep out at granny / my sisters etc., but you don't know what happens in other people's houses. How do you know the dad is not going rape / molest your child or they are alcoholics / having a party / allowing your child to drink etc. etc. etc. Nope they won't sleep out, unless I really know the people very well.

Wow, some of you are strict on the sleeping out rule. Am I the only one who can't wait for my child to want to sleep out?

lol jems. Yes we can't forget what we were like as teenagers. They will have sex at home and I agree, boom as long as it is shared. ;) Drug tests a must.

I must say my mom didn't allow us all the fun things like riding bikes on the street etc as young kids, but allowed bf to stay over. Odd I know, and I wish she had been stricter when we were older.

yip lets see how many of these rules I stick to.
