I just need to vent

I would just like to add that no one is actually judging giving your child something when they are really sick or in pain. As with Marilu, her little girl is very sick most of the time but like you say Marilu, when she is healthy she doesn't need medication to sleep or constant rocking so the rocking was mostly becaue she was so sick, which we all can relate to.

I think the problem is giving your child something really strong when there is nothing medically wrong with your child.

A few months back I was very pregnant and hormonal and I drove behind this effing women who smoked with the windows closed with 2 kids in the car! Anyway I happened to pull up next her to at the next robot and very politely asked to roll her window down and then proceeded to ask her what type of sicko smokes with 2 kids in the car etc etc etc. She just looked at me but I could see she was as embarrased as hell and I felt good after that.

Julz, i am one that never ventures onto threads that i know can make my blood boil or get the better of my judgement.
i dont even snoop cos i dont wanna get all worked up on it but i really am still giggeling at how quiet this has been all day til now and i said 20min ago i was leaving and wont be back, now look at me.

I agree with Honeylove. Each to their own. It is very clear that we all have different ways in raising our children.

Enchanted & Marilu, I agree with you on the homepathic meds if the going gets tough. No sane person can cope with an hour sleep an day night. Even though I knew sleeping in late will end when having children, but like Marilu has said its tough if you havnt been sleeping for a year. He used to sleep through from 8 weeks but after being in hosptal, he has refused to sleep through after that. We have tried sleep training and it didnt work, so sleep training doesnt work for everyone.

My eldest son slept with us from birth until he turned 5 and he decided he doesnt want to sleep by us anymore. I actually miss it and love when he asks if he can sleep by us once a while. Kyle only falls asleep in our arms and I will carry on doing it until he doesnt need the comfort anymore.

i know of a mom that used to give her child a shot of alcohol!!!!!!!!! at 2years old

RM kids grow up so fast and i never came from a physically loving family, i mean that with all the respect i have, i love my family and we all so close but we never hugged and kissed and cuddled...

my logic is cuddeling her and we call it our "loving time" we dont do it every night that it forms a habit but we do it most nights sometimes she politely says to me that she doesnt wanna cuddle
there days when they also get in a mood and just wanna be left alone and they also human with their own personalities.

sometimes she even asks me to plse be quiet so i really do treasure the times that we do have our "loving" time

I wouldnt medicate my child either...though I know of a mom I would totally advise it to. She gets really angry when she is sleep deprived. Turns into crazy mom so in these instances...?
