Dylan only really started eating and enjoying food when I allowed him to feed himself. It is messy but he eats all his food and loves it. He never ate purity like this.

This is why we have a second child so that we can wright the wrong.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

And don't worry about it, you were just defending your friend which I understood. All is more than forgiven, you didn't have to apologise!

Ok, I’m here to eat some humble pie 

I have been against BLW (as you could probably tell from my previous posts), but my husband suggested we give it a go last night as Zani did not want to eat any supper …..AGAIN! So I thought, what can be the harm? I really have nothing to loose here. We were having steak and chips for supper last night, and so I went ahead and cut a strip of steak off my plate and gave it to her along with some prunes (quartered) and some rice cakes for dessert. Needless to say, she loved loved loved it and proceeded to gum/chew the steak as if her life depended on it. Then she moved onto the prunes and ate a whole quarter. When she was done with this, she discarded the other quarter of prune and made a grab for the avo on my plate. She proceeded to take a couple of bites from this and pulverised the rest into my previously pristine white table cloth…..Oh well! Then she moved onto the rice cake and sucked/chewed on this until she was done and then dropped it to the floor where two drooling doggies were standing at attention. They knew something new was happening here tonight! By now she was only hitting her stride. My hubby had a yogurt for dessert and Zani started moaning sooooo loudly that he gave her a bite. So I said, if we are going to do this, lets do it all the way and went to go fetch her her own spoon. I dipped it in the yogurt and gave it to her. She then proceeded to smear it all over her hands and clothes (spraying mommy in the process when the waving got a little exited) and finally it found her mouth. Success!! We repeated this a couple of times and each time the road to her mouth was shorter until at one stage she would take it straight there….hubby had by this time gone and gotten another yogurt for himself as he was fighting a loosing battle to get a bite 

I was amazed at how much she enjoyed it!

So here goes….I must to apologise to Marijke for my previous post. I discounted the advantages of this feeding method without giving it a try first and for that I’m sorry. I don’t think I will replace all my spoon feeding with BLW, but will definitely replace the evening meal as this is the one where she is refusing the spoon completely. I still have loads of questions and hope that you will allow me to ask them here. I have also attached some pictures of our first BLW meal, she looks sooo happy eating her steak!!

lol Marijke I read too much because I have no life:) Actually with me seeing fewer patients during the day and having put doing my masters on hold I feel its the only way that my brain keeps going. My friends and my husband tell me I overthink things - and in high school my parents used to make me stop learning because I got myself so worked up about not knowing everything:)
Guess I'm a bit of a nerd.

@ Charlotte, I'll try remember to post links, I just dont do it too often for fear of irritating people:)
