Thanks Marike for that tip :) I will try the rotation of the spoon trick. Although I kinda have a picture of how this will go down in my head :) K will probably hold one spoon in each hand and try to load both of them :) Lol!

I am glad to see her trying to be independent though. Its definitely her character and who she is so I am just gonna nurture that :)

Charlotte, if you are making pasta tonight, I think I'll have to send B to you for dinner because it is her favourite. Try Lorelai on it and see how she responds.

Claudia, you read too much! But on a more serious note, I love that you research everything. Every time you comment or start a thread I sit up and listen because I know that you did your research on it. Your comments come from a place of pure knowledge and I applaud your for you.

Charlotte, the mess for me was a quick answer to getting rid of my OCD tendencies!

She is always welcome - she must just bring her own mop. lol im stressing just a little bit but will try not to interfere...

Claudia - you read just the right amount. can i ask you a massive favour. when you read things that are interesting please past the link so i can read it as well. thank you

Sorrel, welcome! I think we really do all fear the choking but I think the key is to stick to foods that are age appropriate. I made a post about gagging/choking towards the front/back of this thread (depends on which side you view it from) feel free to ask as many questions as you want!

Charlotte, if you are making pasta tonight, I think I'll have to send B to you for dinner because it is her favourite. Try Lorelai on it and see how she responds.

Lientjie, thank you! Much love to your husband for his comment, that is exactly how my husband feels. He was also really upset by the comment on Friday as his little girl is his everything.

Deja/Jana thank you for keeping me sane Friday!

Claudia, you read too much! But on a more serious note, I love that you research everything. Every time you comment or start a thread I sit up and listen because I know that you did your research on it. Your comments come from a place of pure knowledge and I applaud you for it.

Nayeela, thanks for sharing! I think the barbaric and moronic comment was what irritated me the most since eating with your hands are the most natural thing on earth.

Thank you Julz, you are the bestest.

JustineK, I know you've asked me this before about the fruit, but you know men! they are strange creatures! Perhaps he just doesn't like fruit. My husband would rather go hungry than eat fruit, but keep offering it. He might surprise you one day!

Charlotte, the mess for me was a quick answer to getting rid of my OCD tendencies!

Morgan, welcome! You are more than welcome to join us and don't be afraid to ask! While you are waiting for the book feel free to read the start of this thread you don't have to read the whole thing! but it is a start. In the beginning of this thread I was basically talking to myself and share how I started etc.

I have no idea where to find aprons or bibs - now that it's summer it's easier to just wipe them down, but if anyone knows how to get plum stains out of clothes, feel free to share!

Nayeela, B still does better with her hands than a spoon. What we do with her is food that is difficult to eat with hands only we preload and hand her the spoon to take to her mouth. This is the only way she knows how to spoon feed. Sometimes she can load the spoon herself but I think it will be different when she has more control. So don't worry too much about the spoon but hand it over when the meal calls for it. Have 2, one you preload and one she can play with then you can rotate and she hopefully wouldn't get mad at you trying to take the spoon from her.

EP, I never told you when we had the argument but at least you get my vote for going the home made route! There are loads of areas in your life that I learn from in every new thread, we really don't have to agree on everything - that would just be boring!

Really don't want to comment on the dumbness that started the explosion on this thread. I think today proved that I wasn't overreacting in any way shape or form and I am sad that I actually apologised to this person who clearly doesn't belong with the wonder group of women on Moomie who make it fun.

I wanted to write EP (Enchanted Pixels) a private message but think it would be better to say it out loud. Thank you EP. I know we didn't see eye to eye a while back especially on this topic but at least you kept it clean and never said nasty things directed at me, what I do or my child.
I also feel like mentioning that I have nothing against spoonfeeding. If I were to have another child who is unable to be BLWed I will certainly do what is required to make sure that my child stays healthy. Usually when I'm 'outspoken' about spoonfeeding I am against people who clearly haven't done any research and follow what they know or how their parents did things. There are people whom I would not recommend BLW to, those who have a poor diet and won't change how they eat to make sure their child gets all the nutrients needed, for example.

Again, I'm not against spoonfeeding, but have seen in my own house, over the last 8 - 9 months that it just isn't needed.

I will now try and comment on all the posts and answer questions.

I wasn't exactly tactful :-) but I did apologize for being nasty... I solely blame pms hahahah! I must admit I have been "lurking" in this thread often... Yeah, I was pretty much ignorant of blw... and although I still won't try it, I certainly don't condone it (anymore). Although I feed Jaqi pureed foods, at least it is home cooked :-)

So... It is good know all is forgiven!
