@ Vendah – If all goes as planned, I will be popping naturally with epidural at Louis Leipoldt Mediclinic in Cape Town. OBGYN still hasn’t discussed the birth with me, but says that we will definitely discuss it at my next appointment in 2 weeks (I think he wants to see how much baby grows until then…luckily it doesn’t look like he will be enormous). Regarding hiccups, it’s perfectly normal not to feel them – some women never feel them. If sometime you feel them, you’ll recognise them immediately. They are VERY distinctive and rhythmic.
@TCS84 – I also bought myself some Woolies nursing bras a few months ago, but they are WAY too small for me now after all the growth of the past 2 months. The Woolies bras have almost no stretch, so I really can’t wear them. Pity – they cost a pretty penny. I will be seeing my OBGYN on the 13th of August and 2 weeks thereafter and then once weekly until baby comes. I started feeling hiccups exactly the morning of 31 weeks and have felt them about 5 times since. Pretty sure it happens more often than I notice though. I’m also VERY uncomfortable at night lately and my hips and ribs get SO sore from lying down. At this point I’m still able to turn around without assistance, but the way I groan when I turn in bed has hubby asking me if I’m okay every time. I’m also having some SERIOUSLY painful lightning crotch every day now – it gets so bad that I physically can’t walk while lb is pressing against my cervix, which can last up to a few minutes at a time. EINA!!! Can’t imagine labour pains being any more painful than this – BRING ON THE EPIDURAL!!
@Kamogelo20 – Pre-eclampsia is very serious and I hope that that is not the true diagnosis. Pre-eclampsia is supposed to be more dangerous for you than the baby and is very likely to completely disappear immediately once baby is out. Luckily, premmie babies after 31 weeks have a very good chance of survival. Ask your doctor to inject you with steroids to prepare baby’s lungs, should it be necessary to bring baby into the world earlier than nature intended. You are in my prayers!
@DieSwartKat – I am also nauseous at times again, especially when baby is moving around a lot. It’s like motion sickness. I also can’t eat a lot at a time, but have to eat lots of smaller meals since I still feel hungry very often. If I overeat I REALLY feel HORRIBLE.
Personal question, and please don’t be shy to give TMI:
How are your sex lives lately? Many women seem to have really pleasurable bed gymnastics in the 3rd trimester, but DH and I really can’t manage to find a comfortable way to do it, and if we do get that close, it REALLY REALLY hurts me on the inside walls of my vagina, like it’s stretching and tearing. There is no blood, but it’s SOOO sore. We have tried different lubrications, but nothing seems to be working. So now we are completely avoiding BD. It's also not that I don't feel attractive; in fact DH says I'm "more beautiful than ever" (his own words, lol). DH is very understanding about the situation, but I really miss the closeness (as does he, I'm positive).
Can anyone relate?
