Hi Ladies,

I am also feeling really uncomfortable lately, especially at the end of the day and evenings. I sleep with two pillows up at an angle and on my back. If I lie flat I get heartburn and sleeping on either side makes my ribs ache. My ribs also hurt if I sit for a long time.

At my 30 week check up baby was weighing 1.7kg. Dr says she is going to be a big baby. Next appointment is next week Tuesday. Can't wait to see how much weight she has picked up by then.

I have started to put a few things together for my hospital bag, but realized that I actually need a bigger bag. I will be going all natural with no pain meds and so on. Purely personal choice. I want to be in and out of hospital as fast as possible and any medical procedures seriously scares me. Did it at home the first time round so I know what I am in for lol. Not looking forward to the labour part. Some days I wish I could just sleep and wake up with baby in my arms :) I don't want to scare anybody, but labour is really painful. Better to prepare yourselves mentally so that when the time comes you are prepared and ready to face each contraction and know that the pain is normal and won't last forever! And the minute you hold your little baby in your arms all is forgotten and absolutely nothing can beat that feeling of total love that you feel at that moment for your baby. True love!

I can't believe that just the other day we were battling with morning sickness and now we are almost at the finish line. Wow time really does fly. I find myself thinking a lot about how our lives are going to change forever in just a couple of weeks. My 3 year old boy still co-sleeps yikes and still isn't completely potty trained. I worry that his sleep will be disturbed with baby waking up every 2 / 3 hours and that will make him irritable during the day and make the whole transition to our new normal harder. But I mostly think that I worry too much and I hope that after a few weeks we will all settle and he will become a "deeper" sleeper and sleep through it all. Baby will be sleeping next to our bed in a moses basket.

Anyone else still struggling with a name for your baby? We cannot decide and agree on a name for our princess :)

Kamogelo I'm sorry they picked this up.
Ladies out of interest, does drinking more water help flush out the protein seeing as you have no other symptoms? Or does that not make sense?
I think you need bed rest as well.my mum had high blood pressure whilst preg with my brother and they ordered lots of rest which helped...
Perhaps next week you should go for another check up? I agree with lillyr... Rather every week now and see from there cos in 2 weeks a lot can change:

Please don't stress tho. try to take it easy. Monitor fetal movements and remember at 31 weeks your baby can survive with a little help in NICU. So if he needs to arrive earlier and its best for the both of you then take it as it comes. Easier said than done I know. But for now don't think the worst but educate yourself so you can be aware of changes that happen that we sometimes ignore.

Thinking of you .. Lots of hugs to you and your bean!!!

hi Mommies,

sorry to budge in, but just wanted to respond to kamo briefly. I had pre eclampsia, and I had 2 symptoms that you mentioned. Started off as swelling of the feet, without blood pressure. It was marked as normal pregnancy swelling, then one day they picked up protein in my urine, and 2 days later i was then admitted and had emergency c-sect. Everything went bad after c-sect, i will not scare you with the details. The reason i am telling you is because i am worried that a lot can change in two weeks, and as far as i am aware, protein is enough reason to be monitored closely, two weeks just sounds too long. You mentioned a nurse, are you by any chance seeing a gynae? I would suggest that for the next couple of days you monitor your blood pressure, and if it goes up, please try and get checked. Also if you experience shortness of breath, go and consult. Pre eclamsia is very serious, and as someone who survived it, i would urge you to maybe get a second opinion, or make sure you are seen sooner than two weeks. I am sorry if this is scaring you, but rather err on the side of caution, I am sorry that you are going through this, and i pray that it doesnt get serious. Luckily for you they picked it up early, take it easy, but please make sure you get monitored. You are welcome to PM me, I will give you as much info as I can. Dont stress a lot, it only makes the situation worse. All the best dear

TCS84 I totally relate, I feel so much pelvic pain that I literally have to lift my legs up with my hands to get in and out of bed. Yesterday I spoke to baby and told him mommy loves him very much but mommy is definitely giving him a eviction notice now lol. He kicked at that point so I think he was just saying hang in there mommy I am almost there. :)

Anyway ladies I had my 32weeks app yesterday and I must say it didn't go as smooth as I had anticipated. Turns out I have too much protein in my urine which is one of the 3 symptoms of pre-eclampsia. For a moment I felt as though my world is about to come trembling down as the Nurse kept on checking on the other two symptoms which is usually swollen feet and high blood pressure. So she checked my feet thoroughly and found that they are fine, then checked my high blood and said its also fine but said she is particularly concerned about the high protein found in my pee. (Sorry for TMI). So has anyone had this before and what was the outcome?. She told me that for now it wont be much of a concern because the other 2 symptoms are not present but means I am going to have to be watched because this can in turn cause seizures for me and this can affect babies air supply. I must say I really had a tough time driving back home and thinking about all the information I had just been given. She even asked me to get home and Google more about it so that I can learn exactly what it is. Today when I got to work I did exactly that and I must say I got so emotional I had to rush to the toilet because I could not contain my tears that something could be wrong with me that could potentially harm my baby. I read about and it seems that it not even yet understood as too why this happens to certain women and was also told that if I had all 3 symptoms I would have probably gotten admitted immediately so that they can monitor me. So somehow it does not make sense to me as to why I could have just one symptom. For now i was told to return again after two weeks so that they can track how aggressive is the protein levels. and if we find that they are persistent i might have to be admitted for the durations of the weeks leading to birth and might end up getting induced earlier. Honestly this came as a shock to me. The fact that everything went so smooth from the beginning of the pregnancy and to get so excited to be seeing the finish line then suddenly things seem to be taking a change of gear. I just pray to GOD that but the time i go back in two weeks time. All this will be gone. So if any one has anything to share with me as too if the had a similar experience. I would highly appreciate it. For now mommies i am really down and anxious for the two weeks to pass so that i can know what is going to happen.

Ladies,

Today I've reached prob my lowest point. I am so frustrated. My shoulders are killing me from only sleeping on them to the extent that I cannot pick my right arm up properly. It's horribly sore and I think the rotator cuff is stuffed up.
My pelvic muscles or vagina (sorry TMI) is killing me. I cannot lift myself off the bed properly cos it aches. Have to like do this roll or hubby has to lift me.
I know there are others that have it worse and I shud be grateful for minor issues as well as the fact that I'm preg but gosh I am really really frustrated today....

The preggie pillow helps a bit but it's still very uncomfortable to sleep.
