Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday! Had my antenatal really glad I went again because I found out my hospital has changed a few things around regarding how many people are allowed in the labour ward, only the birthing partner is allowed in whereas with my first I had my mom and hubby, they also now have gas which they didn't have as an option first time round. Also so interested in the whole stem cells situation I was sure it was more expensive 3 years ago! Lol

LM how's your Lg doing?

I'm trying to get over this slight flu I got from my Lg, I can't believe how this pregnancy has just been riddled with Flu! Urgh!

Can't believe how close everyone is getting to having their little ones, the weeks are flying by!

Thank you PP, will keep an eye on my BP, I must say that I have not yet felt dizzy or any indication that my BP has dropped, she also said that it might cause some headaches... but so far so good, no headaches. Yes there are so many pregnancy quircks, I think we experience a lot of them every day and don't even notice it. Simple things like in the 2nd trimester I experienced extreme hair loss, but in the first and the 3 NOTHING not even 1 hair... the hair loss was so bad, that I cut my hair which was below my bra strap to just under my ears as there were hair EVERYWHERE... my clothing, my pillows, the couches the car.... you name it... and when the 3rd trimester started it stopped.... so weird...

@HVDB - I just had a look at the package insert for Adalat, what you've mentioned is listed as relatively rare side effect so it could be due to that although I think that it could also just as easily be yet another pregnancy quirk - there are so many You are correct, it's a calcium channel blocker, usually used to manage high blood pressure or heart problems. Do keep a check on your bp though - if it drops you might feel dizzy so just be extra careful to get up slowly when you're sitting or lying down in case it makes postural hypotension worse.

I've also had swollen feet (and ankles) every so often. Last weekend it was bad Thursday through to Saturday and then was better on Sunday. I did pee a LOT on that Saturday night. So I've been keeping my feet elevated when I can, although they were swollen when I got home yesterday. I mentioned it to DH, he took one look at them, told me to lie down and put pillows under my feet. We went for a walk about half an hour later and that also seemed to help. I spent the rest of the night just vegging (and peeing!)

I've also been very hungry lately. @Lauz - crunchy peanut butter is a staple in our house Haven't been going to gym so haven't actually weighed myself since my last doctor's appointment so have no idea how much I've gained now!

@Juanita - seeing doctor on Monday, but am 99% sure that she's still breech.

Morning Ladies....

Yes those sharp/shooting pains....Dr confirmed that it is 'gladde spier' not sure if it would be smooth muscle cramps in English. It can be due to 3 different reasons... 1) contractions, 2) indigestion, 3) UTI, the fact that it felt as if it was accompanied by diarrhea, she said that it could have been contractions. It was only 2 cramps, so nothing to worry about. She was not happy with the regular BH that I got, which is really every 15-20 min, so she gave me some Adalat tablets to manage it. Other than that everything is doing just fine... can't believe that we have less than 3 weeks to go. Told hubby this morning while we were lying in bed chilling and reading newspapers... that in 4 weeks time... Baba will most probably be in bed with us now! So exciting.

Feet swelling. With this heat in Pretoria at the moment, my feet are swelling as well, but I have noticed for the last 2 nights, just before I go to bed, my feet start to swell only a little, then it turns red... and the redness move up to my thighs, and I get this tingling/itching sensation... so weird, never had it before, but it happens about 20min after I drank the Adalat tablet, so not sure if the meds have something to do with it. I know that Adalat is a type of Blood pressure tablet and a calcium blocker, which will assist with my irritated uterine. She said it won't affect my blood pressure too much it might only drop a little bit. The Adalat is prescribed for high blood pressure patients.. so not sure if it could make my feet and legs swell and turn red!

Lol! Thanx Lauz! It was quite weird looking at the 2 dvd's at home later "back to back" and to see the actual resemblance!!!

Needless to say my LG is walking around now boasting that her little sister looks like her and that they'll be "twins"... I just leave her.

I'll keep an ear out for a wheezing couch! The cortizone ampules helps a lot with the nebulizing! Then I also give her some Linctagon Junior fizzy and cough syrup... it seems to work. I'm paranoid that she'll pass it on to me - that's the last thing I want/need now!

As for the swollen feet - I really find that after a nice soak, rubbing them with either vicks or deep heat helps wonders!!! It aids with the blood flow I think. I even rub it on my lower tummy area when the ligament pain get a bit much.

As for the hunger cravings... this afternoon I actually had to interupt my afternoon nap, cause I was just to damn hungry!!! Was laying thete trying my best to fall asleep...but kept thinking of FOOD!!!

The painter thankfully confirmed that he'll come next week Wednesday... and next week Saturday the girl's new L-shape bunk bed and the cot will be delivered! So hopefully come end next weekend, their room will be finalised! So much easier having them share a room... Baby will be sleeping in our room anyway for the first 6 months in the co-sleeper, so I hope it all works out! Also not sure how my LG will react to sussie sleeping with us... luckily the co-dleeper has been set up since early pregnancy, and I've explained the "why" to her.

So glad it's weekend, need to chill after this week. Hopefully we'll get some painting done in baby room?!

Next week i'll be looking for new temp as im positive one we employed not going to pitch. Im sure shes been lying about her kid having measels, but idiot me always give people the benefit of the doubt. Feeling annoyed with myself for believing her.
