Hello ladies.

hope you all enjoyed the long weekend :) we are home already, so it doesnt make a diff. but I really enjoyed having DH home cos he kept LG entertained and I could have some "free" time :)

just when we think summer is her, the cold-front comes along :(

baby-girl is slowly adjusting, sleeps much longer at night as long as Ive fed her enough before she sleeps.
took her to Clicks Clinic on saturday and she gaining weight well (now 3.8kg, she was 3.1 @ birth). she has small pimples/rash on her face which worried me, but Nurse said its normal I hsould just not apply anything to her face for now.

how is everyone? hope you and LO's are keeping warm in this chilly weather.

keep well

Hi Ladies!!

Patty, my DH will be in the same boat next week. He goes back to work on Tuesday, so the late nights have been fine for him. Shame I dont mind doing the night shift on my own.. as I can catch up on sleep during the day, however if my LG wakes up during the night, that is most definately his shift, and currently thats a 50/50 possibility with the way things have been going ;-(

My LB wakes up at 12'ish, 3'ish and then 6'ish... I can handle these times... for now. But he sleeps so much during the day, and has clearly confused day vs night wakings LOL

But I dont mind too much, his still very young.... babies apparently only start sleeping through from 2 months - 9 months... and apparently 30% of 9 month old, still do not sleep through. I know my LG only started sleeping through round about 10months anyway... but your body adjusts.

Naomicee, I picked up an extra show size with my first LO, but seem to be fine with this one, so yes its normal ;-)

I dont know how much weight I picked up in total (as my doc never weighed me for some reason), but I am currently on 3kg's away from the weight pre baby. Which is still not great as I was still carrying some excess weight with baby #1, so I want to lose another 10kg's to go back to pre baby weight... before any babies LOL

Naomicee, its obviously your decision about going back to work, etc but personally I think you should rather leave it, or see if you can maybe negotiate a later start date. This is the time you bond with your babay, and you never get this time back again... thats just my thoughts ;-) Good luck with making a decision ;-) And please add your pics LOl

Have a good weekend ladies!

Hi ladies

Sindy, I'm down 12 kg's another 18 to go for me, I'd gained a whopping 30 kg!! I can't help but obsess a little, I want my body back so bad! I'm only doing light excercises for now, my check up is only on the 24th.

With baby Jasmine, all is well, gaining weight nicely, size newborn that some people got for the babyshower, don;t even fit anymore, luckily we have lots more in bigger sizes!

My shoes don;t fit anymore, is this normal guys, will my feet ever go back to what they were before, or will I need to go shoe shopping- its an all win situation either way! :) :)

I went for an interview a while back ,the company wants me to start in 2 weeks' time, I told them I will think about it, Jasmine is still too young, but on the other hand I do need the money, I don't know what to do... :( :(

Here is a pic of Jasmine, the day she was born! She looks like her daddy.

Hi ladies

Long time no chat. Congrats on everyone that had their LO.

I'm finally starting to settle into my new lifestyle. Last night we had a good night for the first time. My LB is still not sleeping through but it's getting better. Breastfeeding is going great.

Good news I have already lost 13kg's still have 17Kg's to go but atleast it's a start and seeing that my LO is only 25 days old today, I'm not doing to bad.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Morning Mommies.

seems we are slowly adjusting into this new lifestyle.

the baby pics are so adorable :)

Dee I kno what u mean, my LG is also using my boob as her gum-toy :P
she's becoming too attached to me also. the minute I leave her with Daddy or Aunty she wil scream her lungs out. if Im ther and either one plays with her, she's fine. but I must just not leave the room :( frustrating.

Ive been expressing and Daddy feeds her with a cup/teaspoon/syringe. she is learning and accepting it, the milk must be warm thou and there shouldnt be a delay in milk-flow as that annoys her.

she wakes up every 2-3hours at night for feeds, Im getting used to it by now. poor DH is not coping well thou, cos he's going to work while I catch on sleep during the day

keep well ladies, she's awake now :P

Hi everyone!

Glad we are starting to surface now through the nappies and feeds and sleep deprivation ;-)

Glad you all doing well ;-) the baby pics are gorgeous! Who ever said newborns are not cute?? They lied ;)

So yes also nice to know that I am not the only one awake through the wee hrs of the morning. Thade also loves sleeping during the day, and then at night is awake.. also not crying or anything, just alert, as if its playtime. Whats making it extra hard for me is my LG (17mo) has now also started getting up at night - after months of sleeping through *sigh* and she cries and is looking for our attention, and takes a while before she goes back to sleep again. I have tried all the tips of keeping her involved, etc and during the day she is fine, and loves holding and kissing her brother (with supervision ;-) but night time is becoming a terrible time for us, almost like having 2 newborns at home! So hubby helps with LG and I feed and keep Thade company ;-) I am also exclusivly breastfeeding still... he seems to have started using the breast as a form of comfort though... anyone else have this problem?

He just loves being there at the boob, not sucking or anything... for now its the only thing that gets him to sleep. I know his still very young so I am leaving him be for now, but I hope this doesnt come back to bite me later lol

I am also worried that when I need some alone time, he may not like this very much... although yesterday I went and fecthed my LG at daycare, so left him with dad for like 30min or so, and he was fine ;-)

Has anyone intro'd a bottle yet? I have been expressing but I know they say its preferable to wait a month or so before offering the bottle, so as to not cause nipple confusion...but I am going to need a break very soon.
