Yikes me too!

Jade is at the "why?" stage at the mo and hubby usually leaves me to answer most of the questions!

Shame the other day she saw 2 people dancing closely on a music video - that new Sade one - anyways, she was like look they are loving each other. Was very sweet.

Yes Kamilah will also work for pocket money :)

I was 21 when I got married and so was DH. DH was more experienced in the field since he came from a family that were not really practising and therefore more liberate (if I can put it that way). He then converted to Islam about 5 years ago.

Anyways I was chatting about this to DH and although we are raising Kamilah in Islam, DH and I agreed that we would much rather teach her safe sex because we do not have a guarantee that religion alone will make her wait. Rather than saying No you cannot have sex, I think I would feel more at peace knowing that she knows how to be safe if she decides to do it. I know many Muslims will disagree with me on that.

At least if I teach her, she will be more aware of things like Aids, unwanted pregnancies etc that she might not want to do it at all

That said, I hope my little girl will one day wait though but I have no guarantee on that.

I can relate.

I think I will have to remind myself of how I felt being a teenager and what would have been reasonable then. A flat out no is just not good enough.

As for religion. I am opposed to it for my own personal reasons. I am spiritual and practice mindfulness, but am not keen in the man made concept of religion (please again my feelings), however if Dylan wants to explore religion I have no issue. I will expect him to explore all faiths though so that he can make an informed choice.

Dylan will also work for money.

After having a very heated similar topic on another forum that just made me MAD, I am glad to see that your topic is so light and so much fun. :cheer:

Nayeela, if I may ask, how old were you when you got married? Its still amazing though that you waited and very beautiful.

What I wont allow, I cannot say as I dont know what the future holds, but this is what I would prefer.

1. NO TV while eating
2. Sit at the table for at least one meal a day
3. Pray every morning and every night
4. NO TV in the room-"come watch with mommy"
5. I work for my money and so will you :)

Cant think of anything else though.
